the Zenith point rippled, and a small thermal plume flashed in the infrared band, accompanied by x-rays, the flash collapsed in, leaving behind a tumoured needle-shape. The white hull of the ship was highlighted by a single, dark brown stripe, and the words "Coast Guard".
"Secure from jump, let's hope they're more inclined to ask questions than they are to just shoot first-intel says there are a HELL of a lot of ships here." Captain Giap commented, "Deploy jump-sail, and ready the CAP, just in case, all marines to your stations..." he sighed.
"WHat now, sir?" Xin xiao lu asked.
"Now, we wait for them to notice we're here." Giap said, "and hope their first response is with a radio, not a naval autocannon."
November 16
"Fuck it. Comms, Broadcast standard Hails, let's find out what the hell is going on-we're here to talk to them, if they're not going to acknowledge our presence in-system, that's going to be damn difficult." Captain Giap said quietly.
"Channel's open, I can't tell if they're recieving, sir." ensign Phong announced.
"Hail any Scorpion vessel in range, this is Coast Guard CVF-1A, Request acknowledgement, we have dispatches for the senior officer in system, Over."
No vessels or signatures emanate from the planet, save a few low power transmissions of common chatter.

"What about you, Captain?" Liu asked.
"SOmeone has to make sure the reactors go." Giap said, "Get your asses to the escape pods."
