Title: [RP/MM] T43 CIH vs LA independent 2116 Dustball/Koniz Invasion [complete]
Post by: Marlin on October 10, 2010, 08:12:28 PM
The hunting Pack has come..

Warships and JumpShips pour into the systems' Jump Points. They will be merciless and ferocious.

Over both planets, a message is sent: "People of Dustball and Koniz, fear not. The time of fear and without help is over. We are here to free your from your oppressors who call themselves noble. Within our Clan system, you can take your fate into your own hands. Lay down your weapons and accept your fate. Become part of the great Clan Ice Hellion.

I am Khan Raina Montose. Many have thought they could beat us, they are now either dead or are our bondsmen. Choose wisely."

Although the most experienced commander in the Raven forces that arrived in tandem with Hellion flotilla. Star Commodore Douglas Lankenau
was rather disgusted with the decision of Star Admiral Marius Sukhanov to play it safe and take up positions at the jump point, in case the Inter-Clan Watch's Intelligence was flawed. The incomplete Naval Trinary did not have the forces to complete a Binary after their losses at Tamar, but still had the punch needed to assist in shutting closed the door to Sudeten.

Douglas looked across at the other ships. The quintet of Monoliths mostly carried the dispossessed Air Wings of his Naval Star, but his Naval Star Command was only temporary. He was no fool, Marius may not have his experience, but he had two things going for him, his charm, and the Blood Raven. The ship was highly respected prize from the Clans stand on Alshain besides the Ghost Bears. Only the destruction of the Snow Raven and Wild Swan made the Lord Death the interim Fleet Command vessel, and how long would that last? Not long.

No matter what his personal feeling about Marius, the were here to do a job. The mission, finish something others failed to do when the nearly half of the TH navy showed during their last attempt. It took over a year of recon missions and hard work by the Inter-Clan watch to undo what the Terrans had done while the Clans were en route. Not the most prestigious assignment considering the ancient Star Admiral Nervis McKenna had priority for his star to lead the forces that would finally break the barrier none of his trothkin had achieved. Looking across the void Douglas whispered. "Good Hunting."

The Hellion forces move in, demanding the Snow Raven Fighters to accompany them, more as a gesture of cooperation.

What does await them on the ground?

Bumpity?

2 Clusters each drop on each planet, with Air Support. Then comes, if need be, a humongous number of Aerial force of the Ravens.

Koniz:
Damages before Crits:
Clan: 15 % of 22 FP = 3,25 (10 % captured 2 FP. Damage down to 3 FP.)
Militia: 0,5 FP

Completely in belief of their superiority after the impressive victories over Feddies and Dracs and Lyrans, the Clusters march into a deathtrap.

Clan CO killed, -1 to all further rolls
Militia CO gains +1 to all further rolls

10 % are encircled
15 % damaged reduced

Dustball:

A deathrap too.

Clan CO killed.
Damage to militia reduced by 15 %

Militia wiped out.

0,5 damage to Clan forces.

Dustball is pacified.

Now we come at a new point. With the damage reduction of the single table but the Crits staying the same there is now the possibility of getting away with no damage?

Makes no sense to me, Dave? But Koniz will need a second round.

It is possible (though unlikely) for a force to take no damage as a result of favorable critical rolls. Of course, as you noted, even though they survived on Koniz you can just hit them again.

Just to specify, when the Ravens heard the words militia only. They went back to their LF Mobile Roosts and took an overatch position until you notify the all is secure.

AKA, ravens will go watch the jump points.

Salvage: [blockquote]Rolled 2d6+15 : 6, 5 + 15, total 26[/blockquote]

Koniz:

Star Colonel Marina Jadav of the 33rd Striker Irregulars shook her head in disbelief. That Militia was like devils. Like an ancient Nemesis that had appeared to chastise and punish her.

When the two Clusters landed, they expected this to be a cakewalk, however, Star Colonel Gavin Norizuchi fell when he entered a supposed clear path of Volcano landscape. When the mines and Warheads went up, he sunk into a sea of Magma. Marina was thinking of the Klondike Operation. However here the Ravens were wise enough to stay with their Warships.

In the ensuing chaos, the Militia trapped some Binaries into a pit and flooded them with Magma from the nearby volcano. That took roughly ten percent of the whole force out. Of course, when Marina took over Command, enraged, they finally crushed them. Still they were incredible in the face of her forces. Struck her from unexpected angles and taking out more machines than she had thought possible.

Those horrible losses. Not even the Giftake could be taken from Gavin. If that Commander was still alive, she would want him as Bondsman. He was gifted, no doubt about that.

But she vowed never again to underestimate the enemy.

And now she had to inform the populace, free the Warriors that had been trapped and prepare a report to high Command. Would they let her keep her Cluster?

Dustball:

Having underestimated the temperature of Dustball, many Omnis of the Hellions simply refused to work correctly, shutdowns were the norm, allowing The Militia to take out more Machines than normal. The Heatshinks of the Mechs had been overtaxed and when the Militia forces hit Star Colonel Karlo Zeira's Mech hard enough, he ejected, dying a painful death under the sun. Obviously, it was hazardous to go out unprotected. Finally, Star Colonel Jaina Pogue rallied the Clusters and squashed the Militia, with New Monaco, the Capital under a huge dome, surrendered.

What the Ice Hellions knew, however, was, that the Malthus Family had established a realm of Pleasure industry and Criminal Cabal on the Planet. It was time to get that out of Clan Society for good.

With the incorporation of Kooken's Pleasure Pit, they now had both of those competitors under their thumb.

Only the Canopians would rival with this market power. One would see where it would go.

The Loremaster would visit Dustball and start cleanup of the most bizarre and perverse businesses. If the Malthus Family behaved, they could still run this show, perhaps.
