Continued from turn 43 (http://intelser.org/forums/index.php?topic=1564.msg17012#msg17012)
Both SLDF and Dark reinforcements are trying to arrive.
SLDF initiative [blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 2, 4, total 6[/blockquote]
Dark initiative [blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 4, 1, total 5[/blockquote]
SLDF reinforcements arrive first.
Dark reinforcements will arrive second (assuming they aren't caught up at Gant)
Fox-class Corvette SLS Victor Steiner Davion arrives during Op Round 1 to assist the assist in the defense of Taurus.
Any TC activity (orbital strikes, etc?) during Op Round 1, or shall we go straight to Op Round 2 when Dark reinforcements arrive?
FS Initiative
[blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 1, 5, total 6[/blockquote]
FS arrives at the same time as VSD
At the same time the SLS Victor Steiner Davion (Fox) Arrives so does another pair of Warships.
The Melissa Davion Battle Group prepares to sets up in Blockade formation above Taurus
FSS Melissa Davion (Avalon), Regular / Reliable, 20 FP
FSS Fox (Fox), Regular / Reliable, 10.25 FP
While there are forces in system, to bring in the other ones:
[blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 3, 2, total 5[/blockquote]
TC planned reinforcements arrive at the same time as the Dark.
Jeyar, during the first operational round are you going to be bombarding and/or nuking the Dark from orbit? If so lets roll that out now, otherwise we can move onto Op Round 2 when Dark and TC reinforcements arrive.
Orbital bombardment:
[blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 3, 2, total 5[/blockquote]
Dark scatter - percentage exposed [blockquote]Rolled 2d6+5 : 5, 6 + 5, total 16[/blockquote]
Dark damage ceiling is 12.00 FP
Damage inflicted is 5.00 FP
Dark takes 5.00 FP, 70.75 FP survives
Op Round 2,
At the same time TC reinforcements arrive, a Dark Congress jumps in.
"Attention enemy forces, this is Star Commodore Anderson Stiles. My orders are to recover the ground forces that you are currently subjecting to cowardly orbital bombardment. My preliminary sensor sweeps detect several WarShips and it seems unlikely my forces could penetrate your lines alone; consequently, I am willing to make you an offer."
"The forces on the planet below are under orders to deploy chemical and biological weapons as they leave, completely destroying Taurus biosphere and killing the entire civilian population of the planet. If you pull back and allow the forces to depart unmolested, you have my word of honor that I will order them to cancel this operation."
"You have the opportunity to save several billion lives. Consider my offer carefully. I expect a response within twenty-four hours. Stiles out."
[OOC] Not exactly sure how to respond. I no longer know what is possible in game. Assuming that what you're talking about is possible, I suppose their forces can leave. [/OOC]
(OOC: You need to make an in character decision. If you think they're bluffing, call their bluff. If you don't believe they're bluffing, then decide whether or not you are willing to accede to their demands.)
Actually, let me clarify what I mean:
My advice on how to react is this: decide your reaction the same way you would react if another faction's player appeared under the same circumstances and made the same claim. Don't assume that because the Dark is GM controlled that they are either more or less likely than a player to make good on the same threat.
In that case:
30 FP aerospace stop the Dark from dealing with the warships:
Bombardment
[blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 3, 3, total 6[/blockquote]
So it won't be missed, if I understand jeyars intent correctly and he is boarding, the SLDF will move immediately against the. Dark warship, with appropriate rp first
OK, so SLDF and TC are not coordinating their actions, but instead are launching two spearate naval engagements? Am I correct in assuming that the FS force is coordinating with SLDF? Please let me know if I am misunderstanding on either point.
Will wait for RP, then get on to the shooting :)
edit - ignore the part about two naval engagements, I somehow overlooked the orbital strike.
The TC is willing to work with anyone attacking the Dark.
Shoot, if part of the Dark want to attack the Dark, that even is fine.
Seeing the arrival of the Dark Congress and the Taurians bombarding their own world, Captain Jackson turned to his comms officer.
"Raise the Mellissa Davion, secure channel."
"Go ahead Captain, your are linked."
"Admiral, I am Captain Jackson of the SLS Victor Steiner-Davion. I am sure you have seen the pirate Congress that has arrived. I would suggest we work together to take it out, while part of your force maintains your blockade."
"Agreed."
OOC - please note that the 2 warships are killing the Dark on the planet. the other 30 FP are willing to work with you. Need to kill off as many of the Dark as possible before the new rules go into effect...
"I'm glad to hear our presense here isn't unwelcome. We were worried about the diplomatic boundries. The Melissa will take the lead!" With that the huge avalon cruiser put her bow to the dark forces blocking the other ships with her wide horseshoe shaped body.
OOC: I'm up for any megaaero action if there is some.
The SLS Fox slipped into formation with the Avalon.
Ooc - fs has command authority.
OOC: Having gone back and read the full extent of what's happened, I need to do a random roll here to determine how to proceed.
BH <--[blockquote]Rolled 1d8 : 4, total 4[/blockquote] --WH
The knot in Rear Admiral Gaston Pilon's head throbbed as he saw the Taurian's fire down on their own planet. The message sent by the Dark was in the open so they knew the consequences and had accepted that the Dark would unleash a plague upon their land. There were certain boundries established by man to prevent them from slipping into barbarism, both sides of this conflict had now crossed that line. Word had gotten back to Admiral Xavier Dunn that before their arrival, the Taurians had unleashed a nuclear device. As second in command, the burden of deciding to go after the Dark ship and allow the Tuarians to conclude their own affairs as they would was not his decision, but like all of his crew, he would have to live with he consequences. The line in the sand had been drawn when the Taurian ships fired again...
OOC - is there anything we should be doing at this point?
(OOC: Sorry for kind of losing track of this, I've been getting buried with work/school/FGC. I'll roll this out in just a moment)
Dark ground forces take another 6 FP from orbital bombardment, down to 64.75 FP
Dark naval/aero: 0.5 FP
Allied naval/aero: 65.25 FP (if I haven't missed anything)
Dark simple res roll [blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 5, 6, total 11[/blockquote]
Allied simple res roll [blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 3, 2, total 5[/blockquote]
Dark crit check [blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 4, 4, total 8[/blockquote]
Dark critical event [blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 6, 3, total 9[/blockquote]
Quote9 Encircle and capture 20% of opponent, add that FP to salvage.
Allies take 0.25 FP damage and lose an additional 13.00 FP critical event
Dark are totally wiped out
Salvage check for Hell [blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 1, 3, total 4[/blockquote]
Hell is not salvageable.
Any special orders (bombardment/nukes/etc) for next turn? Dark ground forces will attempt to escape via Break Interdiction orders, so I assume the Allies will offensively interdict? If not, please let me know what your strategy will be.
Also, I rolled the Allied combat roll purely as a courtesy. If you guys would prefer to roll it yourselves, please feel free - just post an addendum adjusting the damage dealt (though I can't see how the result of the Dark dying would change).
SLDF will not take part in any special orders of that nature.
The TC forces will do so, with anyone willing to help.
BTW - we are using 20% of the opponent's FP when using that result?

That's what the critical chart indicates (I believe its always been that way, at least back to turn 20, though don't quote me as that was a long time ago!)
Just wanted to make sure. Not trying to hold things up at all. :)
The FS will absorb the .25 damage on the Avalon and does not take enough damage to lose any of their warships even if they failed a threat roll.
As The Dark have no forces left, we get back the 13 FP of forces.
The FS do not OB, but do establish an Interdiction to prevent the Dark forces from escaping. We invite the SL forces to join us on the line. (It is strongly suggested that you join us instead of following the TC's Orbital Bombarding ways)
The Victor joins the interdiction.
...
64.75 FP of Dark ground forces attempt to break interdiction vs. the remaining 52.00 FP of allied space forces.
Dark break interdiction with +2 penalty
[blockquote]Rolled 2d6+2 : 1, 3 + 2, total 6[/blockquote]
Allied interdiction with -2 bonsu
[blockquote]Rolled 2d6-2 : 4, 4 - 2, total 6[/blockquote]
Each side inflicts 25% on the other.
The Dark inflict 16 FP on the Allies
Allies inflict 13 FP on the Dark
The Dark inflicted sufficient damage to break the Allied interdiction and leave the system.
I am guessing that a salvage roll is needed?
[blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 2, 2, total 4[/blockquote]
Thanks, I knew I missed something. With the +15 modifier for an Invasion scenario, it looks like you salvage 19%.
