Title: [RP/MM] KAMU Tournament
Post by: Fatebringer on January 06, 2011, 11:32:24 PM
Lushann Games League - KAMU Tournament
8 July 3091 -  16 August 3090

In celebration of the of the end of the recent hostilities between several of the major Inner Sphere powers, the Lushann Gaming League has arranged for a series of team events to be fought between the various national teams. Proceeds will all go to international relief efforts across the Sphere, so the real prize is prestige to the victorious factions.

Rules
Any faction can participate in the tournament. Battles are between bottom-level units of the same type (skill level and tech level, if applicable, should be determined by mutual agreement of the players). To determine the composition of the units in play, roll on the Isolated Units chart.

Normal map selection rules apply. (Lushann has several arenas, none of which have been specifically defined) Planetary Condition rolls are optional

To determine victory points from each match, use the "Battle" scoring rules.

Since this is a Gaming League, warriors will generally concede rather than fight to the death. Forced withdrawal rules (per Total Warfare) are in effect; any unit that qualifies for forced withdrawal will surrender - eject or abandon the unit to remove them from play (the unit is scored as destroyed).

Each faction should keep track of its accumulated victory points, as they are pertinent to determining the winner of the event.

Simple Resolution will not be used for this event, as the purpose is to play out these matches in MegaMek.

No unit improvements apply for these matches.

Reporting
All matches should be reported in this thread for the factions involved to receive credit.

Rewards
While there is no in-game cash payout (proceeds are being donated to charity), factions can earn build points by reaching certain achievement milestones:

Participate in the Tournament: 1 Victory Point
Win at least one Tournament battle: +1 Victory Points (2 total)
Score in the top three factions: +3 Victory Points * (5 total)
Win the tournament: +5 Victory Points * (10 total)

*If less than 3/5 factions total participate, reduce the award by the difference, to a minimum of +2 each. Example: If only three factions particpate, the prize for scoring in the top 3 is still worth +3 build, but the grand prize is reduced from +5 to +3.

The KAMU Tournament is specifically geared to add some of the 3085 designs into the factions can purchase the following Equipment Chart upgrades. As there are so many designs in the new book, instead of posting all the designs, and what category they will be classified as, please contact the GM to request which chart the designs you like will be available for. No Cross Faction units will be available this way.

1 VP: 2 light / medium unit designs in your chart for 1 point (FL or A-C)
1 VP: 3 light / medium unit designs in your chart for 1 point (SL or D+)

1 VP: 1 heavy / assault unit designs in your chart for 1 Point (FL or A-C)
1 VP: 2 heavy / assault unit designs in your chart for 1 point (SL or D+)

2 VP: 1 design of 200+ Tons without Capital Weapons
3 VP: 1 design of 200+ Tons with Capital Weapons

The following standard Tournament Rewards can still be bought with Victory Points.

1 VP: Random positive military event
2 VP: Adopt Foreign Design
4 VP: 1 Unit Build Point (Can be used for Skill Up, Unit Improvement, or Creation of a new unit)

("KAMU" = Kiss and Make Up)

Current Participation List. Be advised, you can start making matches at any time. The games are build around your ability to get a MM game going and the more teams you face, the more points you can earn. You only face each team once. This event will not carry over into Turn 11, so saddle up and start moseying in ;)

Four of the top warriors in the Snow Raven Clan stand around the funnel. The first two stepped forward and placed the custom coins on their mark, then let the roll.

Delta Galaxy Commander - Hudson Siegel

[blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 4, 4, total 8[/blockquote]

Epsillon Galaxy Commander - Terrence Magnus

[blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 2, 5, total 7[/blockquote]
Title: Re: [RP/MM] KAMU Tournament
Post by: Fatebringer on January 12, 2011, 11:09:27 PM
"Augmented. The location, Omega Hill!" The younger pilot knew the skill of Terrance and was counting on him to have to revert to using a lighter jump capable design to be able to manuever around the hill. Something he knew the older pilot hadn't piloted in a while. Terrance had been piloting a Dire Wolf for so long since he took the mech from the old Alpha Galaxy Commander Thorsten Magnus.

With Hudson's recent rise to command, he's just recently left the cockpit of his Black Python, something he intended to use again for the match. As they stepped back, Hudsun was rewarded for his cunning. "I will pilot a Summoner for the Trial." Hudson responded. "Bargained well and done, I shall pilot a Black Python."

Hudson Siegel (2/2) - Black Python
Terrence Magnus (1/2) - Summoner D

The coins were removed and the next pair of warriors stepped up to the funnel. Like before the coins chased each other down the funnel as gravity dictated the outcome.

Omega Galaxy Commander -    Alice Hakimi

[blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 5, 4, total 9[/blockquote]

Zeta Galaxy Commander - Siona Mckenna

[blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 3, 6, total 9[/blockquote]

Something that didn't happen often in these proceedings happened as one of the coins actually caught the other coin in the funnel!

Omega Galaxy Commander -    Alice Hakimi

[blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 1, 2, total 3[/blockquote]

Zeta Galaxy Commander - Siona Mckenna

[blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 6, 1, total 7[/blockquote]

The youngest of all the warriors present, Siona tried to hide her relief at not having to face the Elemental in hand to hand combat. "Augmented, and to make things honorable, I choose to fight in a Mist Lynx and let you choose the field of battle." Alice acknowledged the generocity she was being shown for her years of service by the younger warrior. "I shall fight with my Elemental Heavy Maching Gun suit, and chose for the place of battle, the rough terrain east of Omega Hill.

Alice Hakimi (1/2) - Elemental HMG
Siona McKenna (1/2) - Mist Lynx Prime

With the Hunters determined, the warriors repoised for the holovids as Klaus Harper stepped forward. "The trial is set. Let the finest two warriors in the clan return here in three days to determine who will fight for the honor of being the saKhan of the Snow Ravens."
Title: Re: [RP/MM] KAMU Tournament
Post by: Fatebringer on January 12, 2011, 11:47:09 PM
Once her missles were spent, Alice was down to just her HMG, with Siona taking to a hill too high for her to leap on, she broke line of sight earning her only Dezgra point in the match. Anticpating where the Elemental would jump to next, it took only seconds for Siona's Streak missles to flay off most of the Elemental armor. Looking much like a bird feasting on a grub, Alice requested Hegira and the match was over. Based on the following damage, Siona counted herself lucky that she was just facing Alice and not her whole point.

==========================================
Model: Mist Lynx - Prime
Pilot: Siona McKenna (1/2)
--- Armor: 50/67--------------------------------------
--- Internal: 43/43-----------------------------------
        FRONT                REAR                INTERNAL
        ( 6)                 (**)                  ( 3)
     / 3|10| 4\           / 5| 6| 5\            / 6| 8| 6\
    ( 2/ || \ 4)         (   |  |   )          ( 4/ || \ 4)
      /  /\  \               /  \                /  /\  \
     ( 2/  \ 3)             /    \              ( 6/  \ 6)

------------------------------------------------------

OOC: The fight results were augmented to match the RP. A Crimson Languar was added to remove the rest of the elementals from Alice's star and to keep the NPC alive. In the game, the follow up LRM grouping would have killed her. Still, for several turns, Alice did damage without getting hit and for a single elemental to get off 17 damage, is pretty good. ;)

The results of the first match mean that the final match will be a mech on mech fight, but first, the next match is also a mech on mech match and I seek a proxy for the final two bouts of the ToP for the saKhanship.

A brutal match of new tech vs old tech & very old tech. The L.A.S was fielding no less then 3 Star League designs from in their bebut match in the KAMU tournament.

As the game began, we thought it would hinged on the Awesome vs Stalker match up, but little did we know that a good portion of the match would be decided by the Wolverine and the Firefly. The Trebuchet got picked on early, and was nearly scrap 3 rounds in after it regained it's feet. The Awesome, but some unluck, was sleeping for a round early, when it was desperately needed to shed some of the armor from the L.A.S. mediums. Meanwhile, the big Heavy PPC on the Wolverine was doing the damage, nearly breaching the Stalker's RT early, it moved on to the Griffin, same torso, it efficiently gouged holes in back of the Marshall and followed up with some SSRM havoc taking our the MPL. But the OA was amazed the firepower the little Firefly brought to bear, tracking down the Locust, it did some damage before the little speedster ran away to get more back shots, so it went after the Trebuchet and was the one that put the final hurt on it, but was that wasn't the little mechs claim to fame? No, it amazed the crowds as the little mech took over 60 pts in damage from combined fire, losing it's left arm while doing it, and followed up with the boot to the chest that put the Trebuchet out for the rest of the fight.

The Awesome wounded as it was, trudged forward, the Wolverine, trying to keep the Griffin from it's rear, the Locust, continuing to harrass the open rear torsos of the Marshall, but in a flurry of activity, the Awesome, was cleaved of 2 more tons of armor, while the Griffin and Marshall went to beating on the Wolvie. An unfortunate blow to the head of the Wolverine cost the OA a pilot as the cockpit was breached. Final fires stripped the Locust and Awesome as the crowd realized the pilot was dead. With that, the OA called the fight.

Another Brutal match between some of the reserve from the Fed Sun's Davion Assault Guard and the L.A.S.'s B-Team in the Circle of Equals arena prepared ahead of time for the saKhan matches. Many a fine match has been fought in this arena since it's inception, today's was no different.

This match unfortunately seemed to have been settled in the first volley, when the Orion's missiles found a spot in the Rifleman's armor, depriving the mech of half of it's firepower, an aggressive rush from the All Stars after that nearly cost them the Pheonixhawk. Once there, the Watchman proved what a good design it was as it stood and delivered. The Trebuchet and Lineholder doing what they do best, adding their damage in from a distance, they pecked away at the P-Hawk, Griffin and Orion dropping the P-Hawk to the ground twice before it was able to scramble for some cover. The L.A.S. Whitworth was a silent but solid contributor from the heavy woods, once it was in position, there were two salvos going downrange at all times, stripping armor and throwing in some Mediums when the best shots presented themselves. The end result, the Rifleman got to it's feet and was tag teamed by the Griffin and Orion, the Griffin taking off the Left Torso, the Orion, the right. As they finished and the Rifleman fell to the ground for the last time, the Watchmen, not the only quarry in reach, had it's leg removed by the big boot of the Orion. With the mech crippled and the full lance of damaged All Stars coming for them, the Davion Guard withdrew from the battle.

The Oriente Andurien team from the Marik Militia's took on the national team from the Taurian Concordat in a fight that showed off both team's understanding of teamwork and maneuver warfare.

The hard fought but honorable contest came to an end when the Taurian Dervish surrendered with three battle scarred but victorious Marik Mechs still on the field.

The Dervish which had accounted for much of the damage throughout the contest was awarded the MVP (Most Valuable Pilot) award for this contest.

Lets have a round of applause fight fans.

TC vs CWiE

Winner: TC by Surrender

After a very good fight, the WiE warriors surrender. A very tought fight, the O2-M died a ignomious death by falling after a lot of damage, and getting a 12 on a TC crit! Again, it appears that my luck is with the medium mechs, and the Pillager almost hit nothing. Special mention to the Lucust to manage to survive. A very brave Solahmato fight in a Locust.

TC vs DC

Winner: TC by Surrender

It was a bloodbath. Ok corral was nothing compared to this. AC/20 rounds, lasers, missiles flying all around while kicks and punches were gifted to all the participants. In the end, a lone Hunchback versus a lone Dervish, a game of cat and mouse. Lady Fortune smiled the bold and lucky.  ;D

Seriously, "dropping like flies" is how it started off though. I proxied for the DC, and lost due to lack of mobility.

Round 1, the Grasshopper gets popped in the head, round 2, A pair of hunchbacks start chewing away at the Warhammer, a round later, it's missing an arm and leg. Two turns later, the DC team calls the Shadow Hawk out to save the pilot who was unconscious with a Hunchback standing over her. Following turn was the bloodiest of all, Hunchy finishes off the Grasshoppers head with Medium Laser, the Trebuchet blows up from an ammo hit and as the TC Hunchback hit the ground, it critted it's AC20.

The TC Hunchie made a difference in the turns it had left after that. Following turn, it fell again, and got shot up, would have lost the AC20 even if it didn't crit it itself, but the following turn when it went down for good due to lost leg and torso, it did grouped damage to the DC hunchie that allowed the Dervish to get at the AC20 and knock it out two turns into cat and mouse.

Literally, if the Hunchback would have been 1 speed faster it would have been a hugely different game of cat and mouse, but the Dervishes mobility before the Hunchie made it to well covered terrain was what doomed him. When the AC20 went, he limped behind cover and shed his armor turn after turn, trying to keep up with the Dervish, several rounds into cat and mouse, it seemed he might actually wither the leg enough to make the TC pilot tap out, but the longer things went, the more weapons he lost, the more armor until the point where ever SRM 2 that hit was a sledgehammer to his longevity.

Last round, the fires only encompassed a Med Laser and pair of SRMs hitting the Hunchie, but every shot was red, red, and more red! Then the Physicals, both mechs standing on one good leg and one toothpick, both legs had less then 5 Internal, the Dervish nails the Left leg, the Hunchie the right. Only the Dervishes right leg wasn't the toothpick and his left was. Down went Raji! Down went Raji! The surrender flare followed the Hunchie hitting the pavement of the Colloseum, a very close and hard fought match that could have gone either way in the last seconds. The crowd loved the match.  ;D
