June 3080, undisclosed system,
FWL Space.
Jump Ship "Crusader's Vision"

"We will recharge the batteries in standard procedure, Star Colonel. This is still a ship under my command." The small Captain seemed unimpressed by the bigger man, even if he was older than him. But the microgravity let him stay composed and more relaxed than his guest.

"Damn- Savashri. I want it done asap. We are so close!", the Star Colonel clenched his fists in frustration, letting the Captain nod. "I think I understand you, but I cannot risk so much in this space. This ship is already 243 years old and it has seen much more than you and me. Than all of us. And I love it. I will do a 5 % increase via the Plant, but not more. You and I know that you want to arrive in one piece, quiaff?"

The Star Colonel and ilChi to the FWL nodded, he seemed slightly consoled. "I thank you, Star Captain Uther, I understand what that ship means to me. I shall leave the bridge now."
Moving away his face told many things, emotions of hope, desperation, perhaps even fear. Something a Star Colonel of Clan Ice Hellion would not show usually. But he was more than that. He was Alexander Carlyle. And he would need Star Commander Anica now to help him calming down. She had that effect on him and he hoped that she would stay with him..

From: Prince Elect Rolph Magnusson, ND Tribunal Chairman

Greetings,

I am Prince Elect Rolph Mangnusson of the New Dominion. As Chairman of the New Dominion Tribunal I wish to invite you to Orestes for some serious in depth discussions that we hope will lead to a treaty that will be benefitial to all involved. The purpose of this treaty is to create a lasting accord that will ensure the vast amounts of resources that have been poured into our naval programs does not go to waste and that the parties that sign this treaty will be free to discuss other options currently not available to them. The full extend of these other options will be revealed upon acceptance of this offer and arrival at the Riksdag Building on Orestes. The significance of this location should be obvious after our last encounter with the Terran Hegemony. We wish to make a statement about the use of Naval power thruout the universe and all parties invites have fleets worth of our respect.

I look forward to hearing your response. We hope to have this meeting wrapped up before the end of October so the sooner we hear from you, the sooner we can set a date.

Regarsd,

Prince Elect Rolf Magnusson
New Dominion Tribunal Chairman

Marik Castle "The Slab"
Atreus City, Atreus
Marik Commonwealth, Free Worlds League
August 5th 3091

Around a conference table sat the leader's of various political and military leader's of the recent unpleasantness in the Free Worlds. Some such as Duchess Danai Humphrey's were arrayed in brilliant jewel's and finery due to their position. Others such as Colonel Dough Lathrop of the late AFRWR sat in bright orange prison jumpsuit.

"Greetings, I am glad you could all make it here. I understand that there was some scheduling conflict due to your losing your minds and daring to rebel against these here Free Worlds." stated Captain-General Anston Marik to the assembled somber faced rebel's.

"Captain-General let me be the first to..." began  Randy Cameron-Jones the Count of Harmony and erstwhile Prince of Regulus with the recent series of assisted suicides in the Regulan ruling family.

"To shut the hell up! Every last damn one of you is a traitor or worse an incompetent whoreson who failed to stand against the traitors in your own House or Provincial Militaries so as to get a little richer or add yet another fucking title and I. WILL. NOT."

"Will Not have you come here and tell me how damn loyal you are or how mislead you were by friends, close relations and/or your latest bed partner."

"We would expect better from a peer of your....." began the enraged Cameron-Jones

"Seargeant Shultz if this slimy Regulan shit says another word out of turn you are to  take him outside and shoot him.

"Yavowl meinh Keptayn-Heneral!"

Twice in the ball's then once in the head, Seargeant Shultz.

"Yavowl meinh Keptayn-Heneral!"

This more then anything shocked the occupants. Not the threat of murder but the sheer matter of fact way it was stated. Anston was known for his raging temper but he had always been more bark then bite. Quick to anger but even quicker to subside and turn pleasant once more.

"Now then you have fought a war against not only me, not only my House but against the will of the Free Worlds, against Parliament."

"So here is  how it is going to be. In front of each of you you will find a treaty you are all going to sign this treaty then some of of you depending on complicity are going to be taken out and shot, some of you are going to live out your live's under the care of close relations in a comfortable but rather insistent house arrest."

"Now I am sure some of you for the sake of your Pride, or some other such nonsense are going to insist on refusing. In which case the a brace of the guards behind me are going to grab you and drag you off to a series of S.A.F.E. interrogator's who shall ever so un-gently disabuse you of such foolishness."

Outside the conference room where the Captain-General was dictating the end of the rump rebellion, a receptionist was trying to suppress her mirth that the dirty traitors were getting what for. Her reverie was interupted by a shadow appearing across the datebook she was double checking, and she looked up to see a middle aged man carrying a leather briefcase, cut in expensive clothing, with a bored smile on his face.

"Hello, I am the Prince's legal attatche, Mr Jason McCullen. I see that I have run a bit late, but I', wondering if you can buzz me in please?" Few were privy to the information, but this particular secretary was actually a trained S.A.F.E. agent, charged with the Captain-General's saftey. She checked her computer, and saw that indeed the face matched up, and the man seemed to be who he said he was. He submitted to a retinal scan(though she noted his eyes had an odd quality she couldn't place), and once she was satisfied, she hit the intercom.

"Captain-General, a Mr McCullen, Mr Cameron-Jones' legal aide." She deliberately left off the Prince's title, despite his having not actually signed the document yet. It was clear to everyone however, that the document would be signed one way or another. Anston looked quite annoyed at the interuption, but he motioned to the SAFE agent at the door, who opened it and allowed the lawyer in.

"Greetings Captain-General. I must say, I am rather saddened that I am standing in this room under such circumstances." Anston Marik grinned devilshly.

"Oh? Hoping that you would be here as the chief legal authority for the new regime? Well, I'm sorry to dissappoint you son bu-"

"Oh no, I couldn't care less about the sycophants in this room, nor the rebels." McCullen grinned at Anston's sudden lack of humor, and he turned his head slightly when a bolt was draw back on a sidearm behind him. Anston nodded to Shultz, who walked over and put a hand on the lawyer's shoulder to take him outside. However, he found that despite his attempts to push the man, he wouldn't budge. He took his sidearm out, but before he could raise the weapon, in a flash of movement, his arm had been shattered, and the lawyer was pointing the gun directly at Anston. When he spoke, his voice was completely different, and totally devoid of any emotion.

"Your Great-Uncle sends his regards, frail." The room was suddenly dark, and a loud reverberation could be felt through the floor of the room. Anston saw two small points of glowing blue light, at eye level with the lawyer's eyes. It was the last thing he saw.

A massive shockwave rumbled through Atreus city as explosives detonated at a primary nuclear reactor, aswell as several substations. Despite there being no reports of explosions near Marik Castle, a large cloud seemed to be emenating from the building.
