Despite the haste with which the Lyrans advanced on this last industrial outpost of the Adders, the world was still able to be reinforced, though the Lyrans were quietly confident of the outcome, as they had yet to meet heavy resistance at the major worlds of Coventry and Alarion. However, it would be foolish not to proceed cautiously now.
Kommandant-General Gerald Davidoff verified that his whole force had arrived, and despite a slight power surge from the Invader-class Soulcatcher, there were no issues. He gave the order to approach the planet, and his forces were greeted by a tough sounding female voice.
"Lyran scum, this is Galaxy Commander Samantha Reisch, commander of Tau Galaxy. You are not welcome here, now turn yourselves away or face the full fury of the Tau and Upsilon galaxies!" Davidoff merely grunted.
"Sorry there lass, but my orders are to crush any 'o you Star Addners that put up a fuss. Seems you just did, so we'll be happy to crush your heads in for you."

Ooh, fun battle!
Shortly after the exchange with the Lyran general, the MAF commander on planet arrived at the Adder headquarters. Apprised of the situation, Dunane Knute went immediately to where Galaxy Commander Reisch was standing.
"So, Galaxy Commander. Your strategy is to fight and die. Aff? And for what? This pissant world. Neg. The strategic vision is that the Star Adder needs its warriors. Today and into tomorrow. Therefore your tactics are no more enlightning than the gutless Lyrans we now face. I challenge you instead, for command of all forces on this worldfor the betterment of Clan Star Adder."
MAF on planet:
2 x 10FP Fighter Groups. I'll get the names when I'm at my computer.
The Galaxy Commander regarded the freebirth soldier before her with some distain. She would never be comfortable with their presence, though she was well aware that these were true warriors, not the foolish young boys some of the other Sphereoids fielded. Still, this was not the place to be fighting over who controlled what soldiers.
"Neg Commander. You may fight alongside us if that is your wish, but I will not leave the defense of this world in another's hands. The Khan's gamble at Vorzel has failed, and our chance at ending this war in a single blow are finished. Our last hope is to bleed the Lyrans as best we can. Help will not arrive from the Homeworlds in time to save us, and our fleet was massacred at Vorzel, so we cannot hold back the Lyrans.
This is not your fight, Commander, but if you are staying, I sugest you get your craft in the air as soon as possible. Perhaps they will overlook you if you do not engage them."
OOC: From an inchar POV, the Adder GalCom can't leave the defense of the planet to an outsider, especially a Sphereoid. However, if you'd like to 'take command' of the defending forces you are welcome to do so. However, as I assume your intention is for them to try and escape, the Adders will fight atleast one round of combat before entertaining the idea of trying to escape, and they will only make the attempt if they are down by a significant margin. Theres not many places left for them to retreat to, and they know it.
"Your valour is well known, Galaxy Commander. And if Clan Star Adder holds the line against the Lyrans and their Falcon pets, then the Magistracy stands ready to honour our commitment to your Clan."

Might I suggest that since there has been no apparent interest in MMing this, that it go to simres with the CSA/MoC v's the Lyrans.
I dig it.

Is the good Galaxy Commander still alive?
Sure why not
She is in a triage station, being treated for a long gash on her left leg, and a mild concussion. Apparently, her ejection seat had fired mid battle. She seems to be more angry than anything else
"Galaxy Commander."
The Star Adder warrior looked up from where the medical caste was bandaging her leg to see the Canopian pilot standing at the entrance of the field tent.
"Galaxy Commander. I will make this quick, as I need to get my birds back in the air. Despite our best efforts, we are down to around a third of our starting strength. And while we have hurt the Lyran scum, we do not have the strength to still prevail. Given the news from Addergrad and other Star Adder holdings, it is clear that the Lyrans intend to swamp your Clan and either annihilate you or at the least, push you out of the Inner Sphere. Now depending on the strategic situation, I am comfortable in saying that the Magistracy will always have a door open to you and your warriors. Or you can regroup with any other Adder forces remaining in the local area. Now to allow you to act on any of those options, my people are prepared to provide the cover you need to allow you to have your revenge."
OOC; I cannot generate the coherence for a good RP Ic post. Basically: we appreciate the Magistracy's continued relief efforts, and wish the commander would speak plainly about his thoughts.
(ooc: lol... I shouldn't try and RP at 1am in the morning. probably should have been in bed asleep)
"Commander. Given our losses, control of this planet will certainly pass to the Lyrans no matter what we do. In order for us to co-ordinate with Star Adder forces remaining in your OZ, I will have my pilots engage the Lyran aerospace forces in order to allow you to evacuate from this planet the rest of your forces and what lower caste you can. We can then meet up with the rest of the Adder forces from there."
(ooc: unless the rules have changed, i believe if the evacuation goes ahead I can engage with 1FP of ASF to cover the retreat. I don't see any indication of a blockade, so the deenders don't have to worry about that)
"Agggghhhh..." the Galaxy Commander groaned as she rose to a sitting position - clearly to the horror of the attending medic, "Here you are again, Dunane, asking me to retreat," Reisch winced in obvious agony as the field dressing on her leg suddenly started to deepen in color alarmingly, "you know what? I should have listened to you the first time, but even now it is unseemly for me to take orders from a foreigner, no matter how good her advice is."
"So," she swung herself around on the gurney so her feet were facing the floor, "I think there is only one solution. If you wish to decide the strategy for the defense of Amminadav, you must win the right in a proper," Reisch made a sharp intake of breath as blood began to ooze through the bandage, "trial of posession."
The medic looked like he was going to faint, "Galaxy Commander," he said in an insistent whisper, "you are in no condition to fight a trial. I demand you return to bed."
Reisch took her feet, gritting her teeth, then smiled, "You see, Dunane, even in Clan Star Adder the stravag scientists are rebelling against their betters," she turned to the apoplectic medic, "stop your chalcas, Medic Gordon, before I have to give you something real to cry about."
"Dunane, do you have it in you to take this command from me? If so, let us settle this."
(OOC: Galaxy Commander Reisch is badly wounded and will be at a -2 modifier on any unarmed combat rolls)
Dunane Knute, even though she had spent some time with the Star Adders, was still a product of a Magistracy upbringing. As such, she wanted to slap some sense into the Galaxy Commander for getting off the gurney, let alone challenging her to overall command. But then those long months, even years, of flying beside pilots of the Star Adder Touman on naval exercises and exchanges kicked in and she recognised the challenge for what it was.
"Bargained well and done, Galaxy Commander. Outside in two minutes. You and I."

Galaxy Commander Reisch put up a surprisingly strong fight for someone as badly injured as she was, landing the first blow of the match quite solidly and making a strong counterattack after weather several blows from the Canopian warrior. In the end, however, she staggered to her knees and raised a hand in submission, "Well fought, Danane," she gasped, "command of Amminadav is yours... do what you feel is right."
Reisch collapsed to the ground, and was quickly swarmed over by a team of medics.
Sorry... have to make this quick, as I'm supposed to be already out the door and on my way to work.
Init for CSA/MoC force for next op rd:

Lyrans try to finish off the CSA before they can escape...
Init [blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 3, 4, total 7[/blockquote]
...but arrive too late to stop them.
(OOC I am presuming CSA/MOC withdraws? If not, obviously adjust the outcome accordingly) Never mind, we're in cleanup phase now. MOC and CSA forces withdraw before the LC can intercept them.
