The comms buzzed him awake. "Johhny." He said as he picked up. Three words later, he was wide awake and running to the window. The dropships couldn't be seen yet, but they were coming. "I'm on my way!" he said as he hung up the line. Johnny Longfellow put on his Cowboy hat and picked up the heavy metal object on his dresser. He thumbed his fathers spurs. Taking a deep breath he popped on his vest and grabbed his neurohelmet. He hopped out the window onto the fire escape and hopped down landing after landing until he was on his hoverbike. Cranking it up, he rushed to the compound to get his to his Father's Thorn. It hadn't seen real action since '39 when everyone was getting called up to, but today was a new day.
