From many points throughout the Home Worlds, a timer ran down. As the timer hit zero, each vessel, whether jumpship or WarShip, then ripped a whole in time and space, all heading to one location. The system was designed so that all vessels will be jumping in sequences allowing each element to jump into the system nearly simultaneously.
Clan Steel Viper saKhan Brett Andrews watched the timer tick down to zero from the . He knew that it would be some time, before he took the field, as there was a Naval battle to fight, but the Steel Vipers were on the march to their home world.
*OOC- A Clan Coalition Invades the Conspirator's Holding on New Kent. Viper saKhan Brett Andrews assumes overall command and command of ground forces, with the Hellions in command of Naval forces.
I believe Marlin will be posting up the Naval Forces.
Dozens of mighty Warships appeared, led by a massive Monsoon Battleship, the Thunderer. They protected a large fleet of Dropships while moving in onto New Kent, the Prime Holding of the Steel Viper Clan. This day would show that the Steel Vipers were not alone within the Clans.
452,75 FP on Invasion (Offensive Interdiction)
48,25 FP on Blockade
On his Bridge, Star Admiral Rudolphe Rood nodded approvingly as the various Ships appeared on schedule. He opened a link to the mighty Fleet: "Gathered Clans, this day will be remembered as the beginning of the end of the Fire Mandrills and their conspiration. Others still need to be dealt with, however, we will show what a united force of Clans can do to the evil. Here or in the Inner Sphere! Now, the attack commences. We will blacken the skye above these dezgra spawn and we will destroy them utterly. No more shall New Kent be tainted by corrupt forces! Star Admiral Rudolphe Rood out."
He knew that Lydia Sukhanov was with her Raven Star, but he also knew that he had worked on this plan and the coordination for this effort with the Horses and Falcons again. Perhaps Lydia would recognize his command or not, she was his superior and certainly more experienced, but he would show her what he could do! He would show all of them! For his Clan.
I would encourage anybody able to to play that out in MA/MM. I even would try it. :)

I presume the ASF units escorting your invasion forces initiatie a naval engagement? If so...

Naval engagement on over 3:1 odds. The Coalition is taking no chances.
Dozens of Warships descend upon the Monkeys. Along with hundreds of fighters. The Viper Fighters stay with the Transports as they wished and do not engage.
[blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 1, 4, total 5[/blockquote]
Mandrils require a Crit Roll.
65 % damage. More than enough to destroy the Monkey fleets.
Barring unlucky crits, the way to the ground is free.
IC: Rudolphe Rood noticed that the many Clans gathered with their fleets had trouble coordinating properly.
He sneered when he ordered elements back to the "line" to concentrate on their targets. Lydia Sukhanov certainly knew what she was doing, but she would not listen enough to his plan. Not that it was too elaborate. It would take down those Scum, but it was on the local Admirals to minimize losses through coordinated strikes.
The lines crashed, fighters crippled, exploded and just vanishing. The Ships were gutted. Perhaps there could be salvage? However, the damage received was high. Dropships were killed by fierce resistance, and even some Ships were threatened and torn by shredding fire.
OP: when the crit rolls are over, all should roll their ships safety rolls.
So far damage received is 30.5 (30.6 before rounding) The more ships fail their rolls, the better the chances to survive are. :P Good luck to us all.
Since you have the full list, please go to the Rolls for Turn 40 thread and initiate the survival rolls and the Salvage Rolls for the three Mandril vessels.

Hmpf.. so begins the trouble. I will have to doublecheck the numbers. All that committed to the Space fight, means: Wolves, Falcons and Horses, please resend your forces. As well as Warship numbers not in Blockade if you want me to roll the survival checks. If not, roll on your own.
All I have to do is determine the salvage pool now. Its already at over 100 with the 10 % we could reach 150 easily. But this needs to be correct. Our overall force strength also needs a review for this.

Umm...No they don't...It is a chance fro crit on 3..at least according to the rules.
The roll for the Mandrils was an 8.

Space Resolution - Clans Outnumber Degraza Abjured Mandrils (Way more then) 3:1

CFM: 74.5 FP
Clans Roll: 5 - 65%
CFM Roll: 8 - 40%
CFM Crit
Encircle and capture 10% of opponent's FP, add to salvage
Before Damage is resolved
Clans 452.75 - 10% (45.25 FP added to Salvage) = 406.75 FP
Clans do 65%
CFM does 40%
Clans deals 406.75 * .65 = 264.5 FP in Damage
CFM deals 74.5 * .4 = 29.75 FP in Damage
Clans have 406.75 - 29.75 = 377 FP remaining
CFM forces are Destroyed.
Clans gains 3 FP in Damage Control
Space Salvage Pool is 104.25 * (2D6+15)% + (45.25 FP in captured forces)
If I may correct you, Fate.
They rolled an 8.
This means on the appropriate table: 40 % damage.
That is a clear 30 FP against us. (29,8) Means damage control is 3 FP.
Pure salvage: Edit: 104,5 FP. Plus the 10 % we will have to figure out. I would not like going from wrong numbers.
Aah, I see. I was using 3:1, didn't see the "Over 3:1" Chart out there. :P Will update.
Salvage is damage done * % + Captured forces.

No crit.
The odds are even, with the Vipers only outnumbering by 12 FP.
Mandrills/Scientists- 92 *.4= 36.8(37.75) FP in damage.
Steel Vipers 104.25 *.65= 67.76(67.75) FP in damage.
Remaining forces:
92-67.75= 24.25 FP
104.25-37.75= 66.5 FP
Current Salvage: 67.75+37.75= 105.5 FP

#1 Valor saves the day: reduce damage done to you by 20%, increase damage done to your opponent by 15%.
#2 Encircle and capture 10% of opponent, add that FP to salvage.
Mandrill/Scientists- 24.25- 2.5= 21.75*.2-.2= No damage inflicted
Steel Vipers- 66.5*.4+.15=36.575(36.5) FP
Mandrill/Scientist Forces destroyed.
Salvage-129.75
Captured Salvage- [blockquote]Rolled 2d6+15 : 2, 2 + 15, total 19[/blockquote]
129.75*.19= 24.65(24.75) FP Salvaged
So after Battlefield Repair and salvage, Viper ground forces only suffer some 10 FP in damage.
((I just wanted to add, that i love the double 'for enemy' crits...atleast the right side got the good crit check :P))
Seeing the easy victory by the Steel Vipers, Rudolphe Rood once more checked the message.
He had to look through the Viper's reports if there was any indication of the cluster. But there was not.
He typed the answer, as he had coordination do do to care for thh fallen and the damaged and destroyed ships:
"The 31st Auxiliary still missing." Where would they be? On the way to the Inner Sphere or gone with the Bandits?
In any case, despite horrible losses, the Pest of the Fire Mandrills in the Homeworlds was finally defeated. Once and for all, he hoped.
"Message to the Steel Vipers: Congratulations by Clan Ice Hellion for your convincing victory over our enemy. May our future battles be equally blessed with unity and your skill. Star Admiras Rudolphe Rood out."
