Coming as they did from two separate locations, the invading forces attempted to arrive within supporting timeframe of each other. Orders were to wait for the other to arrive, establish the blockade, then proceed to the planetary force to evict the despised Rim World forces from the Lyran system.

"Supporting jumpships have arrived successfully, Sir."
Captain Alexander Kincaid acknowledged the report from his communications officer even as he studied the tactical situation around the jumppoint they had just arrived at. That the Magistracy forces had not yet arrived was immediately obvious, yet expected. Co-ordinating arriving jumps from two separate locations was a magican's job.
"Ensure a solid CAP is in place and update the ground force commander on board the Devil's Run that his boys and girls are going to have to sit tight for a bit."
(ooc: unless RWR forces are departing/arriving the system, I will wait on the GM hatted RWR response)
(OOC - SLDF force arrives first, MOC will arrive in op round 2).
A transmission is received from the surface:
"Attention intruder vessels, this system is the sovereign territory of the Rim Worlds Republic. State your identity and intentions."

"Ignore the challenge," Kincaid said. "We will wait on the Canopians, unless the Rimmers decide to attack us first."
ooc: GMs... does Hinckley throw up an aerospace force for round 1? Or does the MoC forces arrive in round 2, and the combined force launch the attack?
Thanks

I will need to check the RWR sheet to see if there is any RWR aero present, but even if there is it would be on defensive interdiction as opposed to attacking you.
So... I think we can safely move onto the attack on op round 2. When I get home tonight, I'll have access to my RWR sheet and I can post more information.

Cool... will wait for your rsponse. Thanks.
No ASF present in the system.
3rd Republic Guards Regiment (G/R 8 FP) and 5th 'Mech Battalion, 1st Rowe Dragoons (R/R 4.5 FP) will defend - 12.5 FP total.
MoC/SLDF Forces:
2nd Canopian Light Horse (12FP Veteran)
4th Adherlwin Air Cavalry (2.25FP Veteran)
Jangi Paltan (Infantry) (0FP Veteran)
Concordia Air Group A (6FP Regular) switching from Naval Engagment (Offense) to Ground Support
Concordia Air Group B (6FP Regular) switching from Naval Engagment (Offense) to Ground Support
5th Imperial Reserve Cavalry (10FP Regular, Mech)
5th Imperial Reserve Cavalry (10FP Regular, Armour)
Total Combined Force: 46.25FP
Outnumbers defending RWR force over 3:1
Is the above correct in being able to switch from Naval Engagement (Offense) to Ground Support?
QuoteIs the above correct in being able to switch from Naval Engagement (Offense) to Ground Support?
They wouldn't be able to switch per se, but since the invasion doesn't start until the second round of combat, they would certainly be able to receive new orders (Ground Support) for that second round as the troops go in.
RWR simple res:
[blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 1, 3, total 4[/blockquote]
Just a rectification... the RWR is outnumbered 3 to 1 (and not over 3 to 1).
The RWR rolled a 4, meaning:
Simple Resolution Outnumbered 3:1
4 Deal 30% of FP to Opponent
30% of 12.5FP = 3.75FP in damage inflicted upon the MoC/SLDF force.
Damage roll for the MoC/SLDF force to the RWR:
[blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 3, 2, total 5[/blockquote]
A roll of 5 on the following table:
Simple Resolution Outnumber opponents 3:1
5 Deal 60% of FP to Opponent
60% of 46.25FP = 27.75FP = RWR dead
Battlefield salvage roll:
[blockquote]Rolled 2d6+15 : 3, 5 + 15, total 23[/blockquote]
Battlefield repairs for the MoC/SLDF force is 10% of 3.75FP = 0.375FP
Do we round up or down in this case of 0.375FP?
23% of (12.5 + 3.75) = 3.7375 rounding to 3.75FP
With the clarification of rounding, battlefield repairs for the MoC/SLDF force is 10% of 3.75FP = 0.375FP
Rounding up to 0.5FP
All MoC/SLDF forces fullly repaired, and 0.5FP surplus.

Colonel Ardie Germaine of the 2nd Light Horse shook hands with her opposite numbers in the SLDF and CE Armed Forces. The Rim Worlds force had been destroyed, it's survivors captured. The previous Lyran Governor had been found languishing in house arrest. Quickly released, she quickly resumed control of the civil authorities to allow for the resumption of Commonwealth governance. Yet she pondered how long this would last, as the breakup of the Lyran state seemed to be gathering ever greater pace. Would there efforts here be merely a prelude to another invasion, this time by a clan power?
But her command was at full strength, with even a slight improvement in combat efficiency due to salvage. And ready to move out.
