Here is the first "release ready" version of the new record sheet. Please take a look at this and see if there are any mistakes in the coding. I will post a tutorial with the "official" way to populate the equipment table and convert over legacy Naval units tomorrow, but feel free to start experimenting now.
In addition to the naval change, this sheet incorporates many changes in how the sheet behaves, especially when working with non-transported units.
The attachement here is the XLSX version. I will upload an XLS conversion in the next post.
UPDATE: New version uploaded with formula corrections.
XLS (Office 97/2000) version
(note - big file... I would appreciate folks using the more compact XLSX if possible)

Looks good, but it's going to be a lot of work for some of us to convert over... :o
Territory tab:
Wouldn't it make sense to have the totals at the top instead of below the 10 rows or so? Most of us have more then 10 systems
What do all the acronyms stand for? NM I found it by looking at the income tab. What's the difference between guest and domestic guest facilities?
Naval Tab / Equipment tables:
Any chance of a sample table and then a sample naval entry or two?
Most of us are a long ways off any RATs, are we going to be able to make our own?
I'm glad I'm not a Snow Raven.
Expenses:
any chance for more entries on the military construction section or are we free to add em in ourselves?
What tabs can we change?

This is a good idea, and I'll implement it in the next version. +1 for an excellent suggestion.
A Guest facility is one of your facilities that is in someone else's hex. You get hte production/MP/IC cash/whatever, but not hte base tax revenue.
A Domestic Guest facility is someone else's facility in one of your hexes. You get the tax revenue, but not the functionality of the hex improvement.

Yes, I will be including examples with the tutorial I'm working on -- its just not ready yet.
You guys will be making your own RATs, though there will be some rules.

Feel free to insert more lines. As long as its a "middle" row, the formulas should all auto-update.
What tabs can we change?
Ideally, I'd like to preserve the core functionality, but if you want to add more content as long as it doesn't break any of the formulas it should work.

Hell, you think YOU have a lot of work???
And here I went and decided to learn HOW to fill one out, so I'm starting from scratch
In regards to the "Equipment table template" tab, I have no clue as to what I'm looking at or how to fill it in. *whimper*

You'n me both, mon, though I'm told I'll be getting a "Correct" baseline sheet from the GM staff after they've finished figuring out who gets what and how much of it.
DXM should be pleased, though-he's got more than the next bigger chunk by a considerable fraction, including multiple factories, two recharge stations, an Improved Comms, two PF's and about forty-something control worlds.
Thankfully, he didn't get Alarion, so I still have Kelli Fitz (at least long enough to get her home...)
Even if Alarion came to me, I still would have let her leave. This isn't Lao Hu's Rim Worlds Republic, though I completely understand the roleplaying need to villify it due to . . . past actions.
Kelli's welcome to leave, though the Watch will likely be going over and thru everything three of four times to make sure there aren't any "gifts" left behind
And don't worry DXM, you'll get villified right proper ;)

Kelli's taking "her" staff with her-which isn't a great loss, all in all-just most of the Union members/organizers and a bunch of key management and engineering pukes who'd probablby be replaced under the Clan's influence anyway (after all, why keep someone that OLD??)
All the tech-data taken in the departure is replaceable (and leaves the computers sparkling-clean and ready for input from Clan sources...about 120 Googolbytes of capacity was opened up...)
all in all, I'd say that far from being a problem, Kelli Fitz leaving is to the Adders' benefit-she basically cleaned out a bunch of stuff that wasn't of any use to the new landlords whatsoever...
Question about Dropships and Fighters, what if you already had say the Dropships allotted to a vessel. The Vipers have this on the record sheets. Is that basically going away then?
I guess how exactly are the charts actually going to be used?
Another question, What happens when a new fighter comes on line. For, example, the Vipers have two new fighters coming available soon. Do I just choose where to put them in the chart?
Calm down guys. Dave has been working hard and is going to be writing a tutorial for the new sheet this evening. I wouldn't be surprised, knowing Dave, if it was some sort of power point presentation with an icon of him in some RD esque uniform :P
Not meaning to be jumpy and all..Was just wondering.
However, I think I may have found a bug...Of course it could just be me. But it seems that the drop down menu for movement class in the Ground Troops Tab is bugged. There is no menu like in the Naval Forces tab.
Yes..I get a FALSE for MP Validation.
Second Edit...Tried a fresh sheet, and I still get that error.

What version of Excel are you using?
Also, is it only the Ground tab that is having problems, or is the Naval tab also impacted?
I'm using Office 2k7 and the first linked file, and while I was able to change the type of movement for the naval tab(column e), I was unable to do so on the ground forces tab (once again column e). It doesn't look like the look ups working properly or is possibly locked.
Clan factions will need to change their IC income to 2.5 instead of 0.5 unless like the Adders someone else is managing portions of it. (hope to get this corrected shortly ;) )

Its possible that I accidentally didn't carry over the field its supposed to look at when I cloned that part from the naval tab. I will check it tonight and update the sheets if neccessary.
With regard tothe Clan factions, the tax and the Comm revenue really should be tracked separately, since it can become tricky in certain oddball situations. There is a communications revenue box in the "other revenue" section, which I plan to make automated in a future version (I.E. there will be a dropdown selector for Comms status and a box to enter how many extra ICs a faction is running).
I probably could do it no problem, but unless you live/work in Central Massachusettes, I doubt I'll be able to make it, seeing as how I have no lisence, thanks to my painkillers :P
damn doctor wont give me my lisence back while i'm still on the narc-painkillers...friggen sucks, because i've been told I might be in pain for the rest of my life. I might never drive again! either that, or i lie and say it doesnt hurt anymore, just to get the lisence...

I identified the error (and a couple of other procedural quirks) and have fixed them. New versions have been uploaded.
Please also review these instructions and let me know if everything makes sense. At the end are examples of entering both a WarShip flotilla and a Mobile flotilla.
Transported flotillas aren't listed in the instructions, but can be made by choosing "Independent Wing" as the unit type and set the movement class to Transported.
Space Stations work just like the example of the mobile flotilla, except the movement class would be Static rather than Mobile.
Hey Dave thanks for all the great work you have done, the new orders look really good.
But i hate you for making me redo 4 factions.

I made that change and it gives me a message that says "Err:501" Is this normal?
Also, I'm not sure about which BV for the Eisensturm is 1.0 and which is 2.0; Combat Operations' master equipment table, for instance, gives the Primary as 2519 while TRO67 gives it as 2475. Both are labeled simply as "Battle Value" without a version number. Since Combat Ops is the later publication, I'm going to *assume* that it is correct -- but its numbers don't match with the BV I've got for other designs (for instance, CO says F-92 Stingray is 1435, but Sarna.net's wiki says its 1537).
I'm so confused.
A tutorial would definitely help me too.. :P
NAval.. the Support IS the filler for all thats not the Warship, right? :P
Doesnt look that way, though.
I have done a little bit of testing on the sheet...looks like I might figure it out in time the tutorial is handy and the sheet seems to be working alright as far as my test sheet goes. :)

As for the validation issues, it sounds like OpenOffice is not playing nice with IF fields. Is anyone else using Open Office having these problems? Does loading the XLS version instead of the XLSX help?

Two hours and 1 DC battle group done!!!!!! I hate you Dave, so much!
Just takes a bit to get all the tables filled, once that happens its very quick.
I'm having fun with the Dropship tables right now...half the Clan dropships will appear on 2 if not all 3 tables, just because we dont have that many dropships!
You could use SLDF-model DropShips, DK.
'eh, how many of those you think are going to be operating in frontline galaxies at this point. Not many. They wont be taking up prominent positions: I'm saying that there arn't many varied common designs. Whats the widespread Clan mech carriers? Union-Cs and Overlord-Cs...everything else that carries Mechs is generally classified as an Assault Dropship, so doesn't go in the Transport section.
thats all I mean, is that things I wouldn't call transports, but Assault ships, might have to pull double duty(in lower slots) to fill the tables without putting Union-C in 3 spots in the Transport table.
The clans have never put much imphasis on Aerospace.
Thats why you don't get the bonus against Inner Sphere Navies.
Also why in this game the FWLN remains undefeated against the Clans.
No losses, no losses. If your not first your last!
;D

Where is warship class bonus and DS collars bonus to MP?
Also for transported ASF units, i guess you can pick any jumpship class in order to fill them out, or will they be handled at as ground forces that whose composition is ASF?

BBF is Blackbox Factory

Also, can you post a screencap of the error so I can understand what you mean by "almost everywhere"?

If you want to you can ungroup the support section and regroup it so that the marines show up when its collapsed. That or put a Marines column on the end that is equal to the "M" colum in the support group.
That would be a short term solution. Long term, when ground forces go to the equipment tables format I'm going to totally redo marines anyway.

That's good for me, I guess-the Coast Guard's supposed to have Marines and attack boats as part of every flotilla...(Y'know, for boarding actions, customs, shit like that...)
Ooooh equipment tables for ground troops..I will like that a lot. Will make writing fluff even easier.
I'd be tempted to fill in as many slots as possible with differing configurations of the Hauptmann. Just 'cause.
at that point, I might just drop down to just Flashpoint...I don't think I want to play the same game in 2 different time periods.

The instructions you are quoting are for Excel 2003, so they probably will not work with Open Office.
If you are using Open Office, however, you should probably download the ODS format sheet that is attached to Reply #35 (http://intelser.org/forums/index.php?topic=491.msg7131#msg7131) or the XLSX format sheet attached to the top post.
Hi all,
I ran into a problem with the sheet.
On the the Warships when I try to add 31 or more of any one type of squadron it breaks the sheet.
Max FP curr FP and MP Created turn into #N/A hex's.
Also when I add FP to the Marine column it does not add that FP to the Current or Max FP column.

When the sheet was written, it wasn't anticipated that you would need more than 30 squadrons of any one type of fighter.
I will update this and upload a revised sheet later tonight.

=IF(E3="Static",IF((O3>0),"INVALID",0),IF(E3="Transported",IF((O3<6),SUM(O3*J3),"INVALID"),IF(E3="Mobile",IF((O3<6),0,"INVALID"),IF(E3="LFB Mobile",IF(VLOOKUP(D3,A252:B362,2,0)="Y",IF((O3>7),IF((O3<11),SUM((O3-7)*J3),"INVALID"),0),IF((O3>6),IF((O3<11),SUM((O3-7)*J3),"INVALID"),0))))))
to
Quote
=IF(E3="Static",IF((O3>0),"INVALID",0),IF(E3="Transported",IF((O3<6),SUM(O3*J3),"INVALID"),IF(E3="Mobile",IF((O3<6),0,"INVALID"),IF(E3="LFB Mobile",IF((O3>6),IF((O3<11),SUM((O3-7)*J3),"INVALID"),0)))))
Copy and paste cell R3 into all other R-rows
The issue is an artifact of the naval chart; it is trying to check the list of JumpShip types to determine if the ship is a warship and gets the free 7th hex move.
There is a known issue with fighter force validation that can be resolved by changing Naval Forces cell AG3 from:
Quote
=(SUM(H3:J3)*'C:\Users\Dave B\Documents\[TH Orders - Turn 41.xlsx]Equipment Tables (template)'!I$2)
to
Quote
=(SUM(H3:J3)*'Equipment Tables (template)'!I$2)
then copy and paste to all other AG cells in the table.
This was a result of inadvertent cross-contamination of the basic sheet with info from the TH sheet during the creation of the tutorial file.
Finally, the new copies that I will be uploading in a moment will have their fighter FP and dropship cross-capacity calculation tables updated from 30 to 60 max. To upgrade an existing sheet, paste in the new cells for 31-60 at the bottom of the naval forces tab, then update R3, AC3, and AD3 to the following:
Quote from: cell R3
=MROUND(SUM(((VLOOKUP(D3,A$252:G$362,4,FALSE)/15000)+(VLOOKUP(H3,I$252:O$312,2,FALSE))+(VLOOKUP(I3,I$252:O$312,3,FALSE))+(VLOOKUP(J3,I$252:O$312,4,FALSE))+(VLOOKUP(K3,I$252:O$312,5,FALSE))+(VLOOKUP(L3,I$252:O$312,6,FALSE))+(VLOOKUP(M3,I$252:O$312,7,FALSE))+(O3*'Equipment Tables (template)'!G$73)/15000)*(VLOOKUP(F3,AI$252:AK$259,2,0))),0.25)
Quote from: cell AC3
=SUM(VLOOKUP(D3,A$252:G$362,7,0))+(VLOOKUP(K3,Z$252:AD$312,3,0))+(VLOOKUP(L3,Z$252:AD$312,4,0))+(VLOOKUP(M3,Z$252:AD$312,5,0))
Quote from: cell AD3
=SUM(VLOOKUP(D3,A$252:G$362,5,0))+(VLOOKUP(K3,S$252:W$312,3,0))+(VLOOKUP(L3,S$252:W$312,4,0))+(VLOOKUP(M3,S$252:W$312,5,0))
Then copy each of these cells into the rest of the cells for their respective columns within the table.
