Task Force 8.1 itself, would attempt to transit through The Dales system. A portion of the 2nd Adder Sentinels( R/R 3.5 FP) would be the vanguard , entering the system and distracting it's defenders with a raid against the local world.
HTM 10.25 FP of the mixed fighters, droppers, and an Odyssey escorting several troop transport jumpships planing transit through the hex.

So in this case a modified roll of 2 yielding Defenders at 70% of the Attackers.
(OOC: are the hostile movers also attempting pirate insertion, or will they be open to interception by RWR air defenses?)
Open to interception, only the raiders would have gone in via the pirate insertion.
No ASF or naval units present. Defending against the raid will be 2.5 FP belonging to the 1st Rim Fusiliers.

Ok, to finish this up.
CSA Raiders (3.5 FP) roll a 6 on the SimpRes -- Even chart, dealing 50% damage or 1.75 FP.
RWR Defenders (2.5 FP) roll an 8 on the SimpRes -- Even chart, dealing 65% damage or 1.625, rounded to 1.75 FP. RWR fails to earn a Critical Event.
CSA Raiders are reduced to 1.75 FP, RWR Defenders that were engaged are reduced to .75 FP, or to 6.75 FP of all troops on-planet. Equal damage results go to tie-breaker to determine if the raid was successful. RWR tie-breaker roll:
