Title: [RP/MM]Turn 42 CSC vs. CGS: Trial of Possession, 812 Phelan *COMPLETE*
Post by: Hugin on September 09, 2010, 09:43:51 AM
With a flash of light several jumpships arrived.

Quickly they dispached Dropships who started their burn towards the planet
A pre-recorded Message was aired by the dropship:

"Warriors of Clan Goliath Scorpion. Followers of the true Path.
You know best how it is to follow a vision. We share a common trait - a forseeing skill.
One month ago, our clan did commit a rite that has given us insight into the future since the days of the founders... a 'Rebirth of Souls' rite.
We saw brave men standing against the darkness, fighting for their survival... and failing.
They were slain, one by one and all hope was fuitile untill a massive beast saved them. It was a Chimera! A beast with a cats body and a scorpions tail.
You, as well as we, must see this sign.
We know that our both clans have a troubled history, especially in the last years.
While many still regard us as traitors, the Scorpions are believed to be in bed with the Dark.
We feel that only your leadership was tainted, as was the leadership of the burrocks before!
Warriors, techs, laborers of the GoliathScorpion clan! This is our destiny. Look deep into yourself, seek a necrosia inducted vision, if you have not already and follow it.
You will see the Chimera as well!
I have sent volunteers of the most prized Galaxies of our clan to issue trials of harvest.
We do not come in numbers and we will leave if you refuse.
Still, look inside you and you will KNOW that this is the RIGHT path to walk!

I am Khan Nathan West and all of those Clusters act on my command!"

With that message a second one was radioed:

"This is the Nova Star Keshik of Clan Spirit Cats Alpha Galaxy. We hereby issue a trial of harvest against this world, all men and personell and all troops garisoning it. Furthermore we request safcon as we have not brought any air units.
Clan Goliath Scorpion. What is your answer?"

The space above Phelan is eerily silent. Orbital telescopes show that the major settlements are still intact and have power, but no one is transmitting.

No DropShips or JumpShips are observed in system.

The small ex-Wolf Clan settlement is intact, and a small number of residents (less than one thousand) are present. The small military base on the planet is stripped and abandoned, as is the sole civilian transmitter in the system. The HPG station is still present and intact but all of the staff are gone and the system itself has been shut down.

Interestingly, everyone left behind is Sphere-born (most of them having been residents even before the Exiles took the planet and renamed it Phelan).

Local civilians tell your Warriors that about a month ago a large number of unidentified DropShips touched down and evacuated all of the Clan-born population as well as stripping down all non-life-supporting technology they could take with them. There are rumors that a large battle took place at the Warrior Caste base, but if so the actual fighting must have occured in the nearby desert, as the base (other than having been stripped of equipment) appears undamaged.

The remaining citizens of Phelan accept Spirit Cat rule with indifference. Their attitude seems to be that if they are well-treated and mostly left alone they don't care who rules them.
