Passed straight through the myriad of security, Justin meet the Kuritan Ambassador in the corridor before walking with him into his office.
"I must admit Ambassador, your letter took us by surprise. Yes, your assumptions in regards Clan Star Adder are at least partly correct in that they approached us through an intermediary several months ago at roughly the same time they first made their presence known in the periphery. The gist of that and the follow up meeting was about what every Clan wants. To get to Terra first, defeat Comstar and therefore be declared the ilClan. Given they made no demands on Federated Commonwealth territory, at least at this time, we have agreed to allow them transit. From what we know, and we were informed of, we were expecting their fleet and accompanying ground force to continue on towards Terra."

Press was running wild, of course it was well known that the Draconis Combine was seeing ComStar as their arch enemy and therefore the question was valiable if the Draconis Combine would support a nation that did keep its bonds with their enemy.
So it was on Yama Kurita to hold a press conference.
"High-ambassador, is the decision of the House Liao, to keep up the bonds with ComStar influencing the relations between Confederation and Combine?"
" It would be a lie to say that the decision is not influencing the relations, yet we do acknowledge the reasoning of house Liao."
" How would the position influence relations?"
" Military, It will influence strategical planning on international level. Currently only the Royal Marian Repuplic and Capella are upholding their bonds with ComStar. And both are valiable targets for the invading Clans, as all nations that hold up to a HPG Network. Since all HPG-Stations are equipped by ComStar with explosives, we await devastating catasptrophes in the coming years of war. "
" How did the Draconis Combine resolve this problem, after all you also had a contract with ComStar"

Since we also can not allow a mere company to threaten our security at any time they want and put explosives everywhere, they were deported. "

"The people of Capella have proven themselves as most trustworthy of our allies. The two nations are greatly supporting each other in the last years and we are looking forward to uphold this bond. We see them as brothers, in ghost and spirit and will be honored to fight side-by-side. "

The Chancellor has been facing increasing pressure from the other Great Houses to discontinue the services of Comstar citing the numerous atrocities that befell the nations of the Inner Sphere over a year ago. The Chancellor herself was unable to be reached for comment, but the new House of Scions Press Secretary Margaret Yu had this to say. <Clip Rolls>
"If we were going to do that, it would have been when their Primus had Chancellor Romano Liao assassinated. As satisfying as such a unified action would have been, and the Capellan people would have surely supported the Chancellor if this was the decision, we are a nation at war with forces we can barely comprehend. Our realm is small by comparison to the other Great Houses but we have many, many citizens and we cannot afford to alienate anyone during this time of crisis. So no, we will not be cancelling our contract with Comstar at this time."
Madam Press Secretary did go on in further comments to state that any rate increases while we are at war with the Clans would be seen as an act of profiteering and in that case, they would be forced to reconsider their position.

Starting with July 3043, huge shipments of new military equipment started in the Draconis Combine and the ARAR.
A lot of stuff had to be done and the army hadn't seen much of the attention of the Coordinator lately.
On the other side, the warrior caste had seen much attention. While the DCMS was a bit short, the samurai-clans were not... receiving the finest equipment available since quite some time.
Starting with July 3043, huge shipments of new military equipment started in the Draconis Combine and the ARAR.
A lot of stuff had to be done and the army hadn't seen much of the attention of the Coordinator lately.
