The Ice Hellions did it. (with luck of course.) Running into an elite cadre of Star Leage Forces, they put them down at much cost.
And snatch away the highly prized info.

As it turns out, General Andrew Redburn was one of their victims. They have certainly something to brag about. One MechWarrior is cought running, as he tried to gather data for the inevitable counterstrike, but the Hellions would be gone all too soon.

Unless there was a crit roll, it is unlikely the commander would have been on the field.  He commands an entire Army, not just one unit.

Just to avoid any confusion here: when a VIP is used in actual combat and is actually game mechanically killed (i.e. head blown off, ejected pilot stepped on, etc) they are dead. That's the risk of using a VIP in combat.
