As Word of Blake DropShips approach the planet at high-G decel, a coded laser transmission is sent to the surface.

Robinson Command, this is Arthur Steiner-Davion commanding a Terran Hegemony military task force. ROM has discovered that renegade ComStar personnel have cached nuclear arms they retained in violation of their Ares II committments in the vicinity of the town of Purki. Due to the need for a rapid intervention to prevent any hostile acts against the Federated Suns, the forces under my command are of limited strength. Request AFFS support for our mission.

Two questions:

• Does the AFFS help WOB, help ComStar, or sit things out? If they side with ComStar, does any FS aero interdict the TH task force?
• Are you available to play out the attack in the next couple days? I want to give you first dibs on the mission if you have the time.

As this was allotted as a "Friendly Movement" there will be no interdiction. The AFFS units will move into position to support the WoB operation as needed, and will act as "Peace Keepers", engaging as needed and as a reaction force if the worst possible scerario happens to support Medical Crews. All units are preparing for NBC operations.

Arthur Steiner-Davion's ER Pulse Lasers burned through another ComGuard 'Mech, tearing long rents in its armor even as it collapsed into a heap of metal. Glancing sideways with his true sight, Arthur noted with approval that the first Pintos loaded with assault troops were already orbiting the hidden entrance to the Brian Cache.

Adept Harrison, report his true voice whispered over the radio channels.

"Blake's Grace has favored us today, sir," the radio crackled in response as the frail reported, "However, we believe one of the heretic transports escaped the scene. Air units are attempting to track them down now."

An undesireable outcome, but within expected parameters. Coordinate the recovery efforts here - I must liase with the local authorities to attempt to corner the heretics.



Pulling his Precentor's robes over his cooling vest, Arthur extracted himself from the cockpit of his Preta. Rapelling to the tarmac quickly, he saluted the waiting AFFS officer.

"Major, thank you for meeting with me on such short notice. I am afraid I have some bad news regading ComStar's clandestine operations on this planet."

Arthur resisted the urge to grimmace at the Major's slightly icy reception, but on an intellectual level he understood exactly what sort of ambivalence his sudden re-appearance was sure to cause in his former countrymen.

"The good news first, if you can call it that. My intervention unit has confirmed that a secret ComStar arms cache was located at Purki and we have successfully recovered a number of weapons of mass destruction after suppressing the 'black' Com Guards unit guarding the site. We are prepared to discuss handing over the seized goods to the Federated Suns, otherwise we will pack them for transport to a facility in the TH that can dispose of them."

"The bad news is that at least one transport vehicle escaped during the chaos of the raid. At this time, we do not know what ComStar's intentions are, but given recent... revelations from the TH intelligence community I am concerned that they may choose to release the weapons rather than surrender them. At this time, securing the loose WMDs is my top mission priority, and I have come here to formally request AFFS assistance in carrying out that mission. To put it simply, Major, I don't have enough forces to canvas this whole planet on my own."
