OK, back in July we said we were going to put up a poll for what the special reward for Chaosxtreme would be, but it never quite made it up. So, without further ado, here is the "Rewards for Chaos" thread. This poll is open for 5 days. Please feel free to discuss your vote and the various options in the thread.

In addition to the prize the community selects, Chaos will be awarded the traditional benefit of all of our mapmakers: he will be able to place a member world in the deep periphery with a name of his choice. Depending on where he puts it, it may have the honor of being used for Evil GM ShenanigansTM.

Here is the details of each prize:

Special R&D Allowance: For the next six turns (i.e. Turns 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, and 49), one of Chaos' factions will get a special allowance of 40 RP per turn for R&D. He may give the bonus to a different faction each turn, but he may not 'split' it in the same turn. Under the new R&D rules that are being finalized, this is the equivalent of giving him a free General R&D roll and a free Exploration roll both at +3 each turn. Additionally, critical failures on projects that are fully funded with the special allowance will be re-rolled. Unspent allowance funds are lost at the end of the turn (they can't be banked or otherwise rolled over).

Special VIP: Chaos will be given a choice of a number of high value VIPs, one of which he will gain control over. In addition to the NPC, the NPC's followers/assets/etc will come under Chaos' control, with a value equivalent to 150-200 resource points. Depending on the VIP that is chosen, some or all of that character's "added value" may be represented by a special ability the VIP can use.

Biological Weapons: Oh, you thought you were joking when you proposed the "Chaos Plague," did you? If the majority selects this, Chaos factions will be exempted from the R&D path for biological weapons and may move directly to the production stage... at their own risk. Additionally, each of his factions will receive one "ß" token for free, for the lulz.

A Civil War: At some point in the next six turns, one of Chaos' factions (he can choose which) will suffer a major internal power struggle. If they survive, they will come out stronger than ever. BEWARE before voting this to Chaos, this will have the biggest risk, but will also have the biggest reward for him if he is victorious. Those who want to vote for this in the interest of weakening Chaos' factions may get more than they bargained for. If Chaos "loses" the civil war, he will not lose the faction, he'll be allowed to continue its story using the victorious party.
And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Apollyon, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
