I think it is safe to assume that the Hellion Warrior was of Inner Sphere Breed and had been bested.

Rico hit his hapless opponent with 1-2 combinations repeatedly, although Edgar had gotten his first strike in, that was merely testing Rico's endurance.

His first hits cracked Edgar's Jaw, even then he would not give up and escaped Rico's punishing kick, but shortly thereafter, he was hit so hard with a punch and, while falling, with a kick to his skull, that he would suffer a concussion. Although he was down on the ground, a final knee-crush was avoided with his last breath, when Rico only hit the ground.

Edgar would not move thereafter and the Oathmaster declared Rico the victor. This world was now Spirit Cat property.
