A warning klaxon sounded on the bridge as the jump didnt have the intended target below the orbital plane. Instead, the two Jade Falcon recon jumpships found themselves strung out halfway between the planet and it's star.

"Quickly, scan the surrounding area, figure out if any enemy ships are near enough to have taken notice of us! NOW damn you!" The Jade Falcon Star Captain mopped his brow, knowing that his ship was in a very vulnerable position should there be any Lyran warships or aerospace fighters in the vicinity.

"What is the status of the capacitors?"

"A little over halfway Star Captain. We have enough left in the batteries to get us back to base in a hurry if we need to." With that, the crew quickly jumped to their tasks, scanning the nearby space for any sign of Lyran naval forces, and also making sure that they had an escape vector plotted in case their sensor sweeps found anything.

Naval Recon:

Enters an opponent's hex and jumps system to system, looking for opposing forces. If the
required Pirate transit is successfully undetected gain full knowledge of enemy forces in hex (100%
reliable). If uncovered in the raid hex chart, the raider may retreat or engage any forces defending
(which can be from any or all planets in the hex). If the defender successfully engages then damage is
rolled. If the Recon mission is engaged by the Defender they recon unit gains full knowledge of the units
that engaged them (only applicable if any of the Recon mission escapes) but no other Naval forces in the
hex.

Ball is in your court.

not targeting a planet, it targets the hex. and you can target a hex a number of times equal to the number of systems+1
