A much smaller force was diverted to the Noisel system, as Alarion was the obvious major target.

The Lyran commander was put in a somewhat awkward situation when his batchall was answered not by an experienced warrior by by a fifteen-year-old MechWarrior Cadet from one of the sibko training centers occupying the planet's former Gladiatorial arenas. After an equally awkward discussion with his staff, the Lyrans bid their force and chose a place of battle. Equipped with recycled arena 'Mechs, the youthful Cadets made a brave showing but were quickly disabled when motorized field gun troops pounded them from ambush. All but one of the Cadets were taken alive, earmarked to be shipped off to the Falcon Zone to complete their education.
