Maram Zenith Jumppoint
Maram System

Blinking into existence, the giant Warship immediately launched a fighter screen as smaller vessels continued to arrive.

With the last of the jumpships present, the Cameron class warship assumed Blockade duty while the ground force headed towards the planet, escorted the entire way by a shield of aerospace fighters and their dropships.

If any had the ability to see the Warship, they could see on it's bow, an insignia new to the Inner Sphere.

ooc:
Cameron class Black Prince, along with supporting aerospace assets, establish a 30FP blockade.

Ground force command intent is to destroy any Dark forces on planet.

Apologies for the delay in getting this posted...  been catching up on the 'normal' posts after submitting orders.

No sign of any major combat formations in the system. From orbit, you can see massive firestorms engulfing the system's major cities...

(1 FP of battle armor and convenitional infantry were left behind to "harass" the local population. Feel free to stomp them if you are so inclined)
And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Apollyon, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

Parmenion

... certainly.

4FP of Horse Alliance forces descend upon the Dark forces defending the planet.  Orders are to kill all Dark troops found, except officers (who will be wanted for interrogation).

Elements of the 51st Mechanised Cavalry (2FP) and Epsilon Trinary, 11th Fighter Cluster (2FP).

roll (outnumbering enemy more than 3:1)...

[blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 3, 3, total 6[/blockquote]

Parmenion

And a 6 is:

Quote6 Deal 70% of FP to Opponent

70% of 4FP = 2.8FP in damage, effectively killing the Dark forces on planet (depending on the opposing roll of course)

This dice roll has been tampered with!
Rolled 2d6 : 6, 4, total 10

Crit Check

[blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 1, 2, total 3[/blockquote]

And a 10 for the Dark against the following table:

QuoteSimple Resolution Outnumbered over 3:1
10 Deal 50% of FP to Opponent

50% of 1FP = 0.5FP damage inflicted upon the Horse Alliance elements.

Parmenion

Not enough damage inflicted on the HA troops to warrant battlefield salvage (10% of 0.5FP = 0.05FP)

Salvage roll for 1.5FP:

[blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 3, 5, total 8[/blockquote]

Parmenion

8+15 = 23%

23% of 1.5FP = 0.345FP  round down to 0.25FP

HA overall losses: 0.25FP

Maram

Galaxy Commander Unther Cooper looked on grimly from his vantage point on the hillside as the last part of the city went up in flames.  A sudden shift in the wind due to local afternoon weather patterns had engulfed the previously intact western sector.  Reports from flyovers of most of the other major population centers confirmed what had occured her.  The wanton destruction of most of the planetary industrial base, along with much of the supporting residential areas.  The reasons where obvious of course.  To impose maximum terror on the population facing the Dark's advance, couple with crippling economic efforts of recovery.

He was waiting expectantly for the announcement that the commanders of the Dark forces left behind, had been captured in the fighting.

Springlake
Maram

Aug 3069

Gunther Cooper strode into one of the few remaining warehouses in the city of Springlake.  Even out of his battlearmour, he was covered in soot and dirt.  Undistinguishable from any of the other Elementals in the place.  Gathered inside, a few of the local civilians had been waiting and looked on expectantly as their escorts told them who was approaching.

"A bad business, quaiff?  Yes?"  He grumbled as he stopped in front of them.  "Gunther Cooper."  He stretched his hand out.

"These stravag filth have done their work, no doubt about it.  Most of your cities are gone and preliminary estimates indicate a sizeable percentage of your people inhabiting these urban areas also perished.  The good news is that much of your farming areas escaped the blazes, so you will not starve.  But it will be hard."

Given what had happened to the men and women standing opposite him over the last few months of Dark occupation and now the fireballs which had ravished their cities, they took the news remarkably stoically.  'Well done' he thought silently.

"To the future however.  Elect one or more of your own as leader.  The Horse Alliance has no claim to this world and will be departing soon.  If you require communications with your March or national leaders elsewhere, we can arrange for that for Maram is once again a Federated Suns world."
