Gregg's Long Striders 10 FP

"Well your in our way Dar Es Salaam command, But if you agree to surrender, Im sure I can get the Captain-General to agree that you would make a right fine Count of Dar-es-sallam?"

"I get paid, you get to not be a speed bump for the Free Worlds League Military everyone wins! "

Dave Baughman

The response was received by way of a tight-beam laser transmission:

"Get me that in writing, verigraphed, and you have a deal."
And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Apollyon, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

On Tightbeam.

"Your a wise man Dar-Es-Salaam Command. I send notice to Atreus now. Verigraph will arrive tonight we drink and feast to your Countship tonight da?"

Dave Baughman

"Indeed. Thank you for your thoughtful solution to this crisis, Commander."
And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Apollyon, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

Atreus City, Atreus,
Free Worlds League

... he wants want? *scough* Leave it to a mercenary to find a way to win a battle without fighting. Give it to him, its cheaper then the ammunition costs he would run up anyway....And pass the word along to those worlds who have been recalcitrant in surrendering...infact pass the word along to those world's that HAVE surrendered whose Barons or Governors we think we can work with. No reason to be greedy.

VERIGRAPHED TRANSMISSION.

Lord Baron of Dar-es-salaam, Should you swear yourself my loyal servant and willingly bring your world into the Free Worlds League. Then on this day you shall henceforth be granted the peerage of Count of Dar-es-salaam for you and your future heirs.

Sincerely,

Captain-General Thomas Marik Defender of the Free Worlds.

Dave Baughman

The governor of Dar-Es-Salaam, after narowly defusing a coup attempt by the local militia commander, swears allegiance to Thomas Marik and formally hands the planet over to the FWL.
And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Apollyon, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
