Gustrell Zenith Jumppoint

June 3091

Senior Merchant Christian scratched his head and not for the first time in wonderment as to who he had pissed off in a previous life.  If what those religious monks had told him once on the mountains of Lovinac was true.  Because Merchant Factor Hollona had sent him a short communique following the successful intergration of Star's End in to the Clan zone.  No acknowledgement of the work done there of course, just a command to proceed to Gustrell.  To rinse and repeat.  That old nag Hollona could certainly use a rinse, he thought to himself.  A Formaldahyde one.  Which brought a pleasant smile to his face.

But arriving at the zenith point, he immediately requested clearance to the planetary surface with the intent to discuss matters with the world's leaders.

When Christian got to the planet's surface, what he found were survivors of a Pirate massacre. Out of a city that once housed 300,000 less then 10 thousand remained. The Spaceport showed the scars and debris of being razed from space, most of the main city was same. When he got to discussing the situation with the people. They had no formal leadership and were more then willing to accept the Clan to the world.

Their militia has been destroyed, their food stuff dependant on a mildly poluted watersource. Christian wasn't an expert, but after a short converasation with one the scientist caste, he was certain that it would not take much to repair the damage to the ecosystem, compared to the wide spread havok that the Word of Blake caused on so many worlds. The people showed him to their stockpile, scrap pieces from the battles that the pirates didn't cart away.

If CHH take the world, then they get 5 RP in salvage with it.

(ooc:  yes, the Horses will assume control of the world)

ic bit:  Meeting again with what passed for those who had assumed whatever sort of leadership role in the post pirate recovery, Christian outlined his intentions.  As a priority, he would send an immediate message to Csesztreg detailing what had occured and the current situation.  Additionally, he would be advising the deployment of Clan medical teams, including regen equipment, to assist the survivors in their recovery.  Heavy engineering equipment would also be requested and above all, a military garrison to provide a greater level of protection to the survivors.

Returning to the matter of the pirates, Christian asked whether or not they had used Clan or Inner Sphere equipment.  Was their battlearmour (toads) involved?  Aerospace?  How did the pirates raze the main spaceport from space?  Did those survivors present identify any of the pirates , or did the see any sort of insignia with which the pirates could be identified with?

He explained he needed this information down to the minutest detail in order to allow his leaders to make the best decision possible for any garrison.

((Ground troops still have to land here in order to "take" the planet and claim the RP, but they don't have to stay.))

Formal claiming of the planet will have to wait for next turn then, as the good Merchant only brought along a small retinue of non-warrior caste personnel (albeit at least some would probably be step downs from the warrior caste).

Any thoughts in regards Senior Merchant Christian's attempt to gain intelligence about the origins of those pirates (as be the above post)?  Thanks.

The details your Senior Merchant was able to garner have been PM'd to you.
