FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
20 MAY 3090

Sea Fox Corp. Announces Special Sales Event

Agents of Spina 'Mech Brokers, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Clan Sea Fox, announced today the acquisition of a large cache of Star League military equipment, believed to have been abandoned in the Deep Periphery by Clan Ghost Bear during the early years of the Clans. Thanks to this discovery, Spina will be offering a number of new models in the 3091 sales year, and has commissioned a special exhibition to celebrate the find.

Representatives of all government-funded Solaris stables are invited to journey to Itabiana, where they will compete to win special prizes for their host nations. All expenses will be paid and BattleMechs will be provided for the event.

QuoteEvent Rules
Any faction may participate.

The goal is to defeat as many other factions as possible in small 'Mech engagements. Each engagement should be no more than one star. Clan Sea Fox will provide all equipment (assignment tables will be posted as an attachment).

Combat should be in MegaMek or MechWarrior 4 (free edition) - simple resolution is not authorized for this event.

Scoring
Participate: Special
Defeat a rival faction: 1 (per faction - multiple matches against the same faction do not provide additional points)
Score in the top 3 factions by number of victories: 1
Overall winner of the competition: 2

Points won in this event can be cashed in as follows:
1 point: Random positive military event
2 points: Adopt Foreign Design
4 points: 1 build point

Any designs gained from this event will be Star League or Early Clan designs from the Operation Klondike sourcebook. If the random event indicates an equipment table change, the player may choose which table and slot is affected.

Special participation prize
Among the equipment salvaged from the cache, Sea Fox agents recovered Brian Kabrinski's custom Annihilator, "Gausszilla." Each faction that participates in the event earns one ticket for the participation raffle. The winner gains an RV unit impovement they may add to any unit of their choice which contains assault 'Mechs. The RV unit improvement replaces the 2 or 12 slot (player's choice) with Gausszilla.

Please post any questions in the OOC thread. This thread should only be used for in-character posts and for reporting combat results.

Raven Alliance Dueling Team
Origin: Lushann
Stable: Ravenholt Ravagers

The team of ten warriors arrived on Itabiana just after the rising local sun shone it's first light on the Starport. The shuttle had traveled quite a ways bartering passage to get there as quickly as possible. The team's chief Star Captain Diego led the way for their team to the waiting transport.

3018th Grizzly Solahma Trinary
Origin: Soverzene
Stable: None

The Sea Fox event had garnered little interest from the taciturn Dominion leadership, but the same was not true of the lower-ranked Warriors, particularly those stationed on dull worlds and itching for combat. Right next door to Itabiana, the 3018th Grizzly Solahma Trinary staged a small Trial of Possession on their own initiative for the right to participate and won themselves a slot. Considering them a nuisance unit of troublemakers and burned-out old timers, Khan Aletha Kabrinski didn't deign to offer any official comment either to endorse or condemn. The unit might just actually do something useful for once if they won some events, and if not, well, a Solahma's failiure would hardly bring any dishonour to the Clan as a whole.

The Dragon's Teeth, Combine Competition Company
Planet of Origin: New Samarkand
Stable: None

The Draconis Combine's newly formed Dragon's Teeth company of battlemechs, formally known as the Combine Competition Team(CCT) is working to show off the Combine's might on Solaris VII. Before they head to the gladiatorial planet, they shall participate in the Sea Fox corporation's tournament to test their mettle first.

Captain Sung was the 'commander' of the unit. Because it was a semi-military unit, he wasnt actually in command of the unit in the same way he would be for a line combat company. However, as his family's transportation company(Zhou Intersteller Incorporated) was providing all transport, both Jumpships and Dropships, for the unit, he was nominally placed in charge by the Combine financial backers.

Mech Selection - MegaMek

Each team should be either 4 or 5 'mechs. Skill levels should be the same for all involved warriors.

Attached are a selection of six OmniMech stars from each weight class; FP are more or less balanced. Each team may select a star of their choice - even the same one their opponent choses if they want to do a "mirror match."

Mech Selection - MechWarrior

Each team should be either 4 or 5 'mechs - use bot players to fill any vacancies.

Heat and splash damage should be ON, Unlimited Ammo should be OFF.

Teams should roll for map selection per the normal rules.

Since coding of the canon 'mechs into MechWarrior is not yet complete, any 'mechs can be used; forces should be balanced by tonnage, since there isn't an easy way to reference 'Mech value in the lobby.

I am going to try to prioritize the 'mechs on this list for copying into MechWarrior and will upload their data if I am able to complete it in the immediate future.

Update: Here are the canon stats (including non-uber armor levels) for the medium 'mechs on the chart. Grendel configs were done as Shadow Cats, Huntsman as a Ryoken.

"What do you know of our opponents?" Jack said as he grabbed his neurohelmet and followed the Sea Fox administrator to the mech bay. Divya and the others followed. "Never heard of these guys before, but their from one of the League factions. They keep their skills sharp by fighting each other kind of like the Mandrills." Otho laughed, then they must not like each other much, quiaff?" the newest members of the team Juliette and Charlie enjoyed the Raven banter as they moved to the stables. "You know it's not that bad in the League, after all they managed to stay out of most of the fighting against the Clans and the other houses and they got waylaid but good by that WoB sucker punch. I'd be suprised if they were here with their own mechs that they'd have come up with some new tech." Jack and Divya looked at each other. "Did you hear something?" Divya shook her head. "Neg, all I heard were contractions." Jack looked back at Charlie "I swear you will have to speak english if you are going to be part of this team guys." Charlie gave them the bird, and not a Raven.

The Sea Fox administrator stopped and put his hand to his ear. "Affirmative Command." The referee turned to face the Raven team. "Your opponent has been awarded the choice of venue. Once you suit up meet on the Tarmac. You shall be shuttled to the moon for your match." Jack looked around. "Well you heard him warriors. The Leaguers seem to think we do not know our way around a vacuum." The Raven team snickered. "Jack, this isn't gonna be fair at all." Divya put her helmet on quickly and gave the Team captain the puppy dog eyes. "Make the bad grammer stop Jack, make it stop!"

------------------------------------------------------------------

The team deployed from the dropship's ramp, the lead mech was the Stormcrow prime piloted by Star Captain Jack. The opponents had chosen an abandoned fueling outpost for the venue and were within visual range. The first team to deploy would clearly have the advantage. "Move it Ravegers! We need to secure the corner of those buildings! They make it to cover this match get a lot longer then it has to be!" Divya slid the Grendel Prime down the ramp behind him showing off her Low-G skills before touching off the jump jets. "Jack, that is a Prime Variant of the Nova they have over there as well as the Shadowcat, you may outgun it, but in atmosphere like this that Guass can cause a breach real quick." Otto followed in the Nova A followed by the new pair in Grendels set up with the A configuration. The Ravens were known for using LRM 15s to their advantage. Unfortunately their Opponets were set up nearly in the same fashion with paired A's backed up by a Grendel B instead of Divya's Prime. "Move out!" the caws across the external speaker system spewed forth into the vacuum...

------------------------------------------------------------------

"Ravager 1 is down, I am taking command! Red 3 target designate M1!" Otto quickly came back. "Neg Red 2, I am down to one ruby lancer, all I can do is eat up their missles." Divya evaluated the situation, Jack went down quickly to a Center Torso breach as he rushed forward. Otto was gimped but if they checked their sensors, the opponents couldn't know that. "Breaches do not show up on sensors. Give them a good show like you are going to light them up sky high. I hope your hungy, you will have plenty of missles to eat." An enthusiastic Otto came back "Yum Yum!" The Shadow Cat was hanging back wich gave Divya an idea. "Charlie, touch off and head to coordinates one-tree-two-niner! Get that Cat's attention. Give us time to finish off this Nova taking a nap..."

------------------------------------------------------------------

Apparently the final Leaguer thought that space construction was made of sterner stuff as the last pilot crashed thru the roof of one of the building, little did he know that with lower gravity, roofs usually were not as dense because they did not need to sustain a heavy weight. Juliette who had performed admirably during the trial  staying back and racking up kills had already cornered the downed pilot. "Open a whole, we are on the way." Charlie and Divya made their way over using large bounding strides. Juliette had torn down the corner of the building by the time Divya arrived, clearing the panels out with precision lasering and then knocking the sections down with her LRMs at short range. As the wall fell down, Divya was standing in front of the whole, the pilot has managed to right the mech but did not have time to adjust for the jump. Looking at her opponent, Divya let the reticle fall over the figure glowing from the light coming thru the roof. She took some damage from the return fire but her shots were steady and true dropping the final opponent for an opening round victory. "Charlie, go check on Jack."

On the field of equals, two teams of mixed origins met to do battle. The Raven and the Bear. Like true duelists they continually jockeyed for position. The old military adage "Aim low, score high" best described this encounter. Once both of the Bear's Stormcrows lost a leg, the Ravens had a decided advantage and the Bears conceded to the inevitable.

And Gausszilla goes to Oriente-Andurien! Chaos, you may add Gausszilla's RV unit improvement to any of your unit that contains assault 'Mechs. If you don't currently have any eligible units, you can "bank" the RV until you have added HW to one of your heavy regiments.
