Welcome to the Niflsmeet! The following contest is a test of teamwork in the face of great odds and the elements.

The objective of this competition for your team to outlast the other teams and be the first one to reach the top of Mt. Jotunheim. The course around the mountain has 5 levels, 15 teams will loop around the mountain rising to the next level each time three teams have been eliminated and only the winning team is allowed to ascend the final steps and claim their prize!

Each team is comprised of 1 Battle Armor unit and 1 Battlemech weighting no more than 35 tons.

When the contest starts teams will begin with Battle Armor mounted on their ride at different parts of the track. Battlemechs must move counter-clockwise around the track at all times while at any time their Battle Amor may dismount and move in any direction around the track.

All weapons on Battlemechs will be disengaged during Niflesmeet and are not allowed to physically attack or interfere with another unit in any way.

A Battlemech that is destroyed or leaves the course in any way, such as skidding off the mountain, is considered elimited as is the rest of their team.

Battle Armor units can attack the Battlemechs on the coarse by any means possible. Shooting, Leg Attack, Swarming, etc.

Battle Armor units can mount their ride for no more then half a lap if can not remount until after their ride laps them 3 times.

A Battlemech that is giving a ride to their team is not allowed to be attacked until after their Battle Armor has dismounted.

In the case of a multiple elimination on the last level leaving no clear winner, the teams will be allotted extra time to repair their rides and rearm their Battle Armor before being released on the highest level of Mt. Jotunheim.

Each Faction can have no more then three teams, sign up is first come, first serve. Skills will be assigned based on the the total Faction BV.

Game Date: 7/23 - If you sign up, you must be on and ready to go no later than 1600 hrs GMT (8 AM Pacific, 11 AM Eastern) This was the best time frame to make sure everyone has a chance to participate.

Prizes

1st: 4 RP + Deimos Omnimech
2nd: 2 RP + Kahru Omnimech
3rd: 1 RP + Beowulf BEO-12

Notes: All prizes will be provided by the New Dominion and will be made available immediately for use on Turn 3. Please try to arrive a little early so we can coordinate. The more people we have sign up, the more time will be needed to complete the game so plan ahead.

If GMT means Greenwich Meantime, then that should be possible, right?

Tentatively I would be taking part.

So the Mechs are just transporters? And if shot down by BA, the entire team is wiped. Hm.. interesting idea.

Dunno if I should get only the CIH in as the Cats are there too, but I assume they have other things to do. A shame, really. If there is a player for the Cats, could they take part? I think its no good to take 2 factions at a time, right?

Fatebringer

Aff, you are correct about the timing. Trying to make sure our European players can get in on this too. The beginning may be slow, but the ending should be faster as the fight goes up the mountain and there's less room to hide from the BA. We'll take as many players as we can get for this, however, I would recommend each player try not to run more than three units either. If we have a large request, we'll cut down some of the teams thru "elimination rounds", but remember, the less people  you have on your team, the better your skills will be. I am running three teams mostly to make sure we have one representative from each of the New Dominion Protectorates.

Marlin

I wonder if the Cats would send one team, the CIH 2. The Cats are still nearby.. still..  :P

Fatebringer

Winner!

1st Place: CIH Team 1
2nd Place: CBS Team 1
3rd Place: CGB Team 1

That was one hell of a Blood Bath!

Marlin

That was really interesting and fun. Only marred by the APGauss of the CBS not hitting while swarming. :( Asked already if this was a bug or rule.
I might now look at the Hellion differently, if only compared to other light Mechs.

Lots ' carnage :) only 3 players, but 6 factions were represented and I made sure to fire on that Blood Spirit Adder with my Rogue Bears :), unfortunately for the spirits the Corona were taken out of the fight early with the loss of the Hankyu

We did not have the proper map because I was not at home to host, but King of the Hill did okay. Would have been a much more interesting story if PSR's had to constantly be made to avoid skidding off the Mt. Jutenheim ;)

I look forward to running this again in 6 months and encourage other people to join us.

As to the status of the "Hellion" Battlemech, that thing has always been nasty. It enjoyed the pleasure of being one of the last units hunted down after all the SRMs were gone. Plus my Rogue Bear had to fire on the Hankyu to try and stop the Med BA from attacking the Fire Moth :P I got the Hankyu, at the same time as he got the Dasher.

I think the match would have been a little different had the Hermes on the FWL pair of contestants not blows it's round 1 masc roll. :P As it was, it was hard to catch that damn locust :P
