Per the reply referenced below, I think I will ask for people willing to Proxy for the Dark.

Just think, this is your chance to be part of the Darkside, and still help the game move along.  ;D

For those willing, please tell me which version you use and when you are avalible... :D

The Dark are defending with 1.00 FP of troops, consisting of a mix of conventional infantry and older ground vehicles (Tech 1 models, including some older Draconis Combine designs like the Sabaku Kaze)
And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Apollyon, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

Cornet Takeshi Yellowstone was leading his "Lance" - entering his "coldest" state he'd learned of. While normally a cornet would lead a company, and normally a company would number 18 not 8 units, his "lance" was oversized, as normally they would only have 6. Pretty much things were a mess right now, as their force hadn't been completed when sent out on this mission. Even so, he was in one of the secretly built Cavalry VTOLs that were being made in small numbers (they did have a "permit" to build the design, but not everyone knew that they had been put into production). Since his "lance" only had one other Cavalry (a slightly different model) it meant that he did break the standard rule of Taurian force leaders hiding in among their standard forces, but on the other hand, he did have a great view of the battlefield.

Half of his force was made up of J Edgar units, with a pair of Hunters fleshing out their forces. An overflight by the aerospace forces said they were to face a Sabaku, a LRM hovertank, a Scimitar, a pair of Strikers and a J Edgar of their own. Which with irony meant that the enemy was built closer to the Taurian Norm than his forces were.

In theory they were separated by a small river, but most of their forces could cross the water easily, and the enemy were closing with them eagerly. So much so that one could say he was taken off guard when they streamed into the river system. A few orders later and his forces were broken into 2 main elements. Some they poured fire into only half of the enemy. Most of it into a pair who were over water. One went under.

At this point, Takeshi didn't pay attention to the individuals per see, but looked at flows. Which is why until they lost drive, they seemed to weave amongst themselves. Things were almost completely going Takeshi's way until Reswald's J Edgar went off in a skid and left the area. He lost contact with them, but in theory there were no enemy out there, so hopefully it was stuck. But he couldn't do more than keep an eye in that direction. Half of the enemy had fallen at that point, and suddenly Marco's lost contact with Takeshi – right in front of one of the enemy. As he repositioned forces to hopefully distract that enemy unfortunately the enemy also noticed that Nerica's unit had been long disabled and unable to move. Marco's and his J Edgar's crew died. One of the enemy seemed to go immobile.

Takashi then brought half of the forces to save Nerica. The rest were to occupy the one that had killed Marco and crew. They failed, as this one came forth and shot Nerica's unit, which seemed to more collapse than anything else, but they took down one of the moving units of the enemy. Plus the immobile enemy still didn't move, even with another set of pings against it.

The one enemy was a monster. It then almost knocked the other VTOL of Takeshi's out of the sky. With all but one unit left focusing on this last unit, they managed to knock it around. As it settled to the ground, Takashi remembered orders and called up some support to capture both units. The troops came in and extracted the enemy from their shells. Plus Nerica and crew as well. Takeshi's unit keeping an eye out on things.

They'd captured more equipment than had been destroyed, but it didn't help Takeshi, even if he was as cold inside as possible. One crew utterly dead, another struggling. He'd heard that these people had done terrible, terrible things. But for now, the most terrible thing they'd done was killed Marco and crew, and possibly Nerica's as well. Simple minded, but he felt that it was as wide a world view he could do at the moment.

He hoped the filth gave up something useful.

Result was:
TC won. Aerospace not used in attack.
Lost .125 FP Ground
Captured .375 FP (they were knocked out)
roll on salvage (3)
I assume that this means no salvage.
Net: TC force at 1.25 FP for ground

So.... what horrors did these bad guys do? I assume that none of those I capture know anything of any importance.

Yeah the Dark's vehicles got crit knocked out 1 medium and one light. Since they were unable to defend themselves they were captured by the TC forces.

This all happened and I have learned a valuable lesson about special munitions. :-)

Think that is everything needed for this battle, but a note of confirmation would be great (or correction if things are wrong). However I was wondering if the status of a few things could be dealt with. I am fully happy to wait, as I know you both have a lot on the plate, but it would be great if I could be told:

1) What is the status of the poor people (most important).
2) What is the status of the infrastructure and stuff (RP generation ability or no?)
3) What do the captured know - I realize that they were supposed to die but they were knocked out for a long time and going for much longer, and I wanted prisoners anyway - can I use that to aid (situation bonus) in figuring out where the Evil Dark are hiding?
4) Confirmation of things all done okay.

I will let Dave answer 1, 2 and 4. As far as 3 is concerned you get absolutely no information from them.

Status of the civilian population: The Dark massacred a significant portion of the population - somewhere around 350,000-500,000 based on initial estimates - immediately after they seized control of the planet. They sent out parties into the suburbs to round up civilians, bussed them into the urbanized settlements, then withdrew to the outskirts, killing anyone who tried to leave. Come dawn the next morning, the orbiting Congress-class WarShip levelled the cities with the civilians still in them; Dark elementals and ProtoMechs then went in to mop up. The troops you fought were a rear-guard formation tasked with hunting down the small number of prominent locals who escaped the initial massacre and otherwise generally terrorizing the population.

Infrastructure: Marknick barely still qualifies as a control world now, however the ComStar compound was levelled early in the fight and the Dark destroyed their own mobile HPG before you were able to seize the planet. The hex will become interdicted next turn until the HPG is repaired.

Prisoners: The prisoners you took insist they are members of the 3rd Davion Guards RCT, Armed Forces of the Federated Suns and demand to be repatriated to their home country in accord with the Ares conventions. Some of them are "cooperative," but you have no way to confirm the information they are giving you, which is all incriminating towards the Federated Suns (and which you have serious reason to doubt based on the information the FS showed you).

All was OK?: Looks fine to me. Technically you are support to post the megamek log or the die rolls, but your summary covered all the key numbers.
