Parmenion

Just as a note... all the Magistracy Royal Guards Fighter Groups are Clan Omni ASF of Star Adder types.  As is the 169th Ground Aero. 

Everything else is IS L2 eqpt.  Think lots and lots of Royal Ironsides ASF.   The fighters off the Impavidos are also IS L2.

I've tidied up a number of OOC posts. To answer the questions that were raised.


  • I understand the confusion about initiative here, in part because split initiative is rare and not well documented in the rules. Split initiative is only neccessary when a faction loses arrival initiative but has other, independent forces that are both A) in the system already and B) are able to receive orders. This was the case in Coventry with the DC, but is not the case here, since the FS lost initiative.
  • While I don't recall seeing anything in the thread itself, I know blockading was discussed on Skype. Blockade is an order that has to be on the orders sheet, so it can't be executed dynamically. If the FWL force is on Naval Engagement, they can't subsequently change to blockade (though they could use Offensive Interdiction if they meet the criteria for it)
  • As noted in an earlier (now pruned) post, GM oversight is not required for this match so if anyone wants to play it out, go for it. I recommend using the Vorzel method and sticking to a focus on the Warships.

G'day Dave.  Given your recent comment in the Rules Discussion thread that the FWL is currently GM controlled, this concerns me not the least because in this scenario I have Magistracy forces present.

Will we see the sort of special conditions here that presented themselves at Apollo, or will standard rolls be applied?  Thanks.

Its such a huge mismatch that it'll just be a narrative outcome. Magistracy forces in the area shouldn't be adversely affected, unless you have an objection to the FWL's general disregard for the sanctity of human life and the principles of the Ares Convention.
