The Camels are lead by a Star Admiral, Victoria Lynn, a veteran of many battles.  But, most likely it would be the Raven XO who would have responded to the situation, since only the Ravens lost ships, and responded to the attack with their persuit (perhaps one of the fleeing ships was piloted by Han Solo...)

However, if 'this combat' should be taken to include all of combat, then it should go to which ever Khan or Galaxy Commander desplays the political fortitude to come out on top, probably as a refrence not so much to their millitary prowess (we're talking about Clan warriors after all; one battle is nothing new) but to the team building skills needed to keep such an unwieldly coaltion together.

Iron Mongoose

As to the language, I'm certan someone in my touman speaks it.  I just don't myself, and I'm loath to trust an internet translator if there's some subtlty in there that speaks to who did it, or why, that I might miss.

Fatebringer

Recently the Ravens went thru a restructuring, so people were shuffled around. With the saKhan and one Star Admiral out of commision, the Snow Ravens have 6 more Star Admirals at Tamar, who are listed below by Seniority.

CSRS Blue Lancer (Aegis) Star Admiral Nervis McKenna
CSRS Rook (Potemkin) Star Admiral Mikous Roul
CSRS Black Justice (Aegis) Star Admiral Donald Siegel
CSRS Dreadnought (Monsoon LF) Star Admiral Jacqueline McKenna
CSRS Blood Raven (Kirishima) Star Admiral Marius Sukhanov
CSRS Artemisia (Black Lion) Star Admiral Sarah Lankenau

OOC:

1) Dave, the Camels have bondsmen from the FRR and warriors of Lyran birth in their ranks, and one imagines the Bears have sizeable contingents of FRR natives, to say nothing of the other Clans with ties to the IS, so presuming the launguage spoken by the attackers could reasonable be assumed to be understood by a person from one of the represented nations, I would request a translation.

The machine translation that was done by Jedibear was fundamentally accurate other than a couple of little quirks, "motherland" rather than "fatherland" for example. The actual declaration was:

"Foreign Clans and false-tongued brothers alike, this world belongs only to the free people of the Inner Sphere!
Now, forces of darkness, for our Fatherland and our sacred honor, taste the burning light of freedom!
For death or glory!"

2) Is the 10% taken from just the force on Naval engagment, just the force directly attacked (the escorts of the fallen warships and survivers, which are doubtless substantial in power), just the blockading force, from all forces irrespective of their orders, or from some other group?

It would be from the naval engagement forces. To address the questions of realism, I frankly considered fiating the results to something more realistic, but no matter how silly the "10% of FU" (that typo in the rules almost makes me chuckle) event can be, its part of the rules and it sets a bad precedent to randomly alter results "just because I feel like it." So instead I did my best to prevent the results in at least a moderately rational RP wrapper.
And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Apollyon, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

OOC: Ok, so Fate, your roll in the Rolling Thread has saKhan Bryn Cooper alive. That solves my issue :)
"My only regret is that I will not be alive in .03 seconds. I would have liked to watch the enemy attempt to vent an omnidirectional thermonuclear blast enveloping their outpost."

JediBear

(OOC: Um, so Bryn Cooper is alive now?

Well, strike all that RP then....)

Eh, chalk it up to quirkiness in the Leviathan's intel staff. From a different planet, language drift, swedish and english are second languages, plus the translation was rushed.

((OOC: Bryn Cooper is still alive, but the RP stands: he is being retrieved from the shattered hulk of his ship. IC, as far as everyone knows, he went down with his ship. Check the Snow Raven RP thread, and it has him demanding to be taken to an operational ship. For all intents and purposes, nobody knows he is alive.))

OOC: Correct, word will trickle back to the fleet about 2 Days after the event. Day 3 he'll put out some tanding orders and be down for medical reasons until Day 5. Still waiting for Wolf responses though.

Iron Mongoose

So, in the hours after the attack, when all this RP is going down, there's still a power vacume of sorts.

Amy Lynn: "At the Battle of Butler, I was on the bridge of the Leviathen [Din Steiner requested a liason from each Clan to his flag ship, which was the Leviathen at the time, and Amy filled that role for the Mandrills], and I know it to have suitable facilities for a Kuriltai of the leadership here.  If the Bears will assent, let us all conviene there, so that we can agree on our course of action with the death* of Bryn Cooper.  The Wolves are unlikely to respond to Bryn Cooper's challange overly quickly, as its their wont, so I doubt it will delay our mission greatly, and it will be best to know what remains our objective, and who shall be responcible for seeing it carried out."

"Status!" Bryn barked as he stormed onto the bridge. "Holding my OvKhan. There is no word yet from the Wolves. There has been a dispute as to who should be overall commander while you were incapacitated. It appears this has been settled now and that they have agreed to allow Khan Lyn command." Bryn was ready to get upset. He took a deep breath. "Tell Galaxy Commander Magnus to send a party down to the Wolves and find out what is keeping them. Perhaps there is a problem with their communications. In the mean time, patch me thru to the Fleet."

A med tech followed him around to the commanders chair as "All hands, this is Senior Star Admiral of the Clans, SaKhan Bryn Cooper. A week ago, there was a terrible course of action undertaken in this system. The purpose was to weaken us but taking out our biggest ships. These cowards fail to see the source of our strength as the materials we use. Things and places are just that. The people aboard those ships will be remembered. We shall not allow these loses to distract us from our goal. If they had more ships, they would have sent them and crippled as much of our fleet as they can. As such, keep the fleet in holding position and make sure that if the pack of Wolves run, that they do not get far. An envoy is being sent down to see what is keeping Khan Fetladral. That is all."

NVA

The comm room was tense.  Since the unexpected loss of communication with the Snow Raven flag vessel, sensor techs and comm techs had been scouring for a reason.

"Khan Hall, estimates seem to indicate that nuclear devices were deployed against the fleet.  We still have an unknown status."

"Very well, open a channel to the largest remaining Snow Raven vessel."

"This is Khan Hall to the Snow Raven vessel.  We show an unexpected nuclear deployment and have lost channel with your command vessel.  Please state status of your trial intentions."

"Status!?" The suprise and rage belched from Bryn's lips. "We are still here, Quiaff!? We have not, nor shall not leave until this matter is settled! I am sorry to have to inform you that the Terran puppets did not do enough damage to clear you a path for you to join them as our offer for honorable combat does have it's limits! You have until Karachi catched up with Islamabad in three days to state YOUR intentions, when OUR envoy reaches Tamar City!"

The grimace on his face had nothing to do with the pain he was feeling. Bryn wanted to throw something as he flipped off the comms at him increased frustration at dealing with the wolves and not able to express it having only one arm. As his mind regained focus, there must have been some signal for the others in the room to resume interacting with him. The dumbfounded tech did nothing to hide his astonished expression. "WHAT!" The medtech swallowed. "Your fitting my khan."

At first Bryn didn't care what the man was saying, he just wanted to take his good hand and smash his face in now that it was free from the controls. Then the realization of why the man was saying punched thru his rage. For a few moments, Bryn said nothing, lost in though, but not so much thought as a memory. A memory of a man who was more metal then man. Swifter then a Jade Falcon and with more raw strength then a Star Adder...Bryn looked down at his stump and thought to himself. "To beat them man, I must understand the man. To beat a machine, I must become...a machine."

Edit: For those of you not from Tamar, Karachi and Islamabad are the planet's satellites.

The image of Khan Fetladral appeared in the holotank of the new Raven flagship.

"saKhan Bryn, our warriors have met.  We accept your challenge and will prove our way.  However, you will have to face each cluster to claim it.  As for the infrastructure of this world, each clan present may issue a challenge for any of it.  That will be defended by a cluster or similar each.  If victorious, the winner gets that infra structure, regardless of the outcome of the calculation for the planet.  Further, you did not lay any claim to our navy.  Therefore, unless utilized in battle, it is to be granted safcon should you win.  However, our naval commanders are eager to test their mettle against your clan again, so some of them will be available to defend against claims.  I believe it easiest if the clans assembled each lay claim to the infrastructure on the world and with which force they will try to claim it.  Our initial defensive bid will be one cluster, to be assigned.  One other note, as they have shown no ability to keep their word and have repeatedly commited dishonorable and cowardly acts, Clan Star Adder will be refused any combat by us.  Unless their leadership decides to guarantee that they will abide by their redes, stop the cowardly bombardments they utilize, and stop the lies they spread, they are not worthy to even have combat against dark caste.  That you would allow such ilk among your force is disappointing.  However, if they wish to admit their failures and cowardice, stop their attack against Howick, which they gifted to us as surkai for previous bad acts, and stop their attacks against Miquelon and Millerton, and abide by the conditions of trials fought here and elsewhere, we will accept limited challenges to give them a chance to perhaps prove their ability to act honorably to those clans present and to us.  One additional note, so that none may claim we are attempting to hide anything.  We have not finished reorganizing our touman.  It is possible that there are duplicate cluster names present.  We will list each seperate cluster individually and make some note to keep track of them seperately."

OOC - Going to post the listing of Infra and Clusters.  Warships are not included as 'targets' of trials, but may be used to defend certain resources.

NVA

Okay.  Looks like 58 ground units.  The 'aero' portions are to be included as part of the parent.  I am listing all units for simplicity and to comply by the game rules.  I am at the airport, so if I miss any of the clarification I promised, it is OOC rushing.  :)  Fate and I are still working this out.  CLEARLY, this will allow lots of MM and MA.  So, I will ABSOLUTELY need proxies.  Also, I think something this large could easily go multiple cycles.  Also, infrastructure is:
