Looking down through the armoglass floor, the planet below looked like a large marble. The blue oceans, green and brown landmasses; the white supercells of a hurricane brewing over the equator. Admiral Masaru Miyake watched the rotating storm, his left hand resting on the ceremonial katana, the other holding the glass of warm saki. He considered a new haiku, about the dancing storm in the air, but his thoughts were irrevocably drawn to the coming storm on the ground. He downed the last of his saki at the sound of the bulkhead door being cycled.
"Admiral, the General sends his complements. He is beginning the operation on schedule."
"Very good, Commander. Let's return to the bridge. Wouldn't be a good view from here anyways." Admiral Miyake smiled, watching the Rift's squadron swing past the viewing room, and churn down into the atmosphere.

The thermal bloom from space must have been huge. A battalion of battlemechs coming alive was a thing of beauty, so long as they were YOUR side's battlemechs, thought Major Johnathan Michaels. It had been awhile since he had danced with the Feddies, and it was time for the Dragon to bear it's fangs again. He looked around the firebase again, seeing the various companies assembling. He looked up as the fighters from the Draconis Rift flew by overhead, searching for potential Feddie fighters. It was time...
