Melissia, and with it the unicontinent Jahreszeitenwunder was under attack!
"People of Melissia, your day of liberation has come. I am Loremaster Philippe Lienet. Fear nothing from us, unless you oppose our just rule. Any defender of the corrupt Archon Peter, lay down your weapons and be spared your lives."
[Defensive interdiction in place, do the Hellions challenge it? Also their maybe some non DC defenders i dont know about.]
We will challenge it, I guess. Although I am waiting for some more Info. (not by you)
[Ok just tell me when you want to challenge it so i can post my forces.]
The 299th Independnet Aero Regiment challenges the interdiction. 9.5 FP Elite/Questionable
5th Sun Zhang Cadre Regular Reliable 5
Joins the defensive interdiction.
OP: Let us get this straight first: There is a Drac Interdiction in place.
The Lyrans want to challenge this and the Dracs reinforce it again?
Please sort it out. I still need to get the info I want. :P
So you have some time.
[I am confused too, the dracs wouldnt fire on the lyrans; since they are helping them.]
Read the posts in the wrong order.
Amended. The 299th joins the defensive interdiction.
[The interdiction will be under LC command, sorry i had to make sure the lyrans still had their asf here.]
OP: So it is a joint OP with 14.5 FP then?
Joint OPs have some provisions to meet, you know, but alright. I guess in defense you can do all this in fewer time than on Offense. :)
Bump. Ball is in your court, players. :) At least I need acknowledgement and the ground forces openly. Unless on ground they dont do Joint OP.
(Not even sure you can split those, but I would not be against it, for now its just Aero then)
Well, will you post the forces that are trying to break the interdiction? So far all we need to post is the naval side of things.
Will do so soon. Will edit it in here.
EDIT:
Massive numbers of fighters and some dropships advanced before their bigger counterparts and the Ground arm.
They nearly blackened out the sun. No, it was a huge Battlecruiser!
(45 FP of fighters and a big Warship.)
Star Commodore Hesekiel Chayama led his force against the interdicting enemy. Seemed the old enemies of Lyrans and Combine were finally scared enough to fight together. Behind them followed a mammoth Warship. Commanded by Star Admiral Lin Hasbrin herself.
OP
Rolling on the outnumber 3:1
[blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 2, 5, total 7[/blockquote]
Damage is 70 % = 31,5. Your interdiction is successfully broken, unless you roll some crazy Crits.
It is your turn.
[Its the Lyrans court here so its their roll.]

[blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 2, 4, total 6[/blockquote]
Lyran and Combine forces deal 40% FP to attackers 5.8 FP - Rounds to 5.75
The Interdiction is destroyed. Hellion forces make landfall in the Loveless valley, north of the Broad Run Delta, where the spaceport and the planetary capital is located.
They prepare for the inevitable.
"Lyran and Draconian soldiers, you will die here. Your corrupt rule is coming to an end. This is the last chance to preserve the waste of your senseless deaths."
With that, Philippe inspected his troops a final time and they swarmed out like a host of Ants looking for food.
When they would meet resistance, they would kill them.
OP
Ship Survival roll: [blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 5, 1, total 6[/blockquote]
Damage control is 0.5 FP.
[Attacker usually posts first, for ground combat.]
OP: If you want to do joint defense, then the ball is in your court. If not, then I will post.
DC Defenders under Lyran command:
Genyosha 1st Elite Fanatical 70.5
Sun Zhang Cadre 5th Veteran Fanatical 33.25
1st Genyosha Regular Reliable 5 (ASF on Ground Support)

Lyran defenders:

OP: 124 FP of Gamma and Delta Galaxies, 10 FP of Beta Aero, 36 FP fighters from the Vigilant Spirit, Taney, Sóryú, Cold Hunter and Impaler.
170 FP
VIP: Loremaster Philippe Lienet
IP: The recon Elements of both Galaxies and the fighters had found them. They seemed to form up to present a unified front. And it seemed they were innummerable.
Philippe gripped the controls of his Stormcrow tight. This would be the hardest battle in his whole life. A short moment he thought of all the other units now fighting against the Lyrans and their lackeys, especially Khan Raina and Connor. With steadfast voice he cheered up his warriors once more. Then they stormed at the enemy, while the fighters and even some Dropships attacked the enemy with all their might.
OP And now to the roll. [blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 4, 1, total 5[/blockquote]
OP: seems the luck from Morges is gone. 45 % damage on the even chart. 76.5 FP damage to you both.

You mean, 76.5 FP combined damage total?
Defender's roll
[blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 1, 4, total 5[/blockquote]
0.45 * 131.5 = 59.175 FP --> Rounds to 59.25 FP damage dealt to CIH forces
OP: Yes, to both.
Damage control for Ice Hellions: 5,925 = 6 FP after rounding. New FP: 116,75
7.65 FP damage control --> Rounds to 7.75 FP
Combined Lyran/DC force now at:
131.5 - 76.5 + 7.75 = 62.75 FP
Proportionately: 10.855 FP Lyran, 51.89 FP DC
Rounding to 10.75 FP Lyran, 52 FP DC
DC and LC forces make a break for it.
62.75 FP on Blockade running orders.
DC Damage:
Genyosha 70.5 - 23.25FP = 47.25
Sun Zhang Cadre 33.25 - 28.25FP = 5FP
1st Genyosha 5 - 4.75FP = .25FP
Lyran and DC forces will retreat from Melissia, i am guessing the Hellions will have an Offensive Interdiction, so i will roll for it.
Genyosha
[blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 4, 6, total 10[/blockquote]
Genyosha ASF
[blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 6, 5, total 11[/blockquote]
Sun Zhang Cadre
[blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 3, 4, total 7[/blockquote]
4th Lyran Regulars
[blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 1, 5, total 6[/blockquote]
Genyosha and its ASF make it out, Cadre and Regulars do not.
Damge done by those forces.
(1D6*5%)
[blockquote]Rolled 1d6 : 1, total 1[/blockquote]
5% * 15.75FP = .75FP
Before you proceed, Holt. Offensive Interdiction is of course in place. However, there is to do a roll on the Interdiction table with a +2 for ground forces, while the Interdictors get a -2.
I will try to sort out my side tomorrow, though. Kinda late here.
Is there any VIP available on the ground (just important for the RP)?
OK. Now, here is the thing: You were trying to break the Interdiction.
You rolled. However, those roles should now be on the Interdiction table. With a +2 for all the ground forces.
This means: The Genyosha do no damage, the ASF as well (they are too few anyway, unless they would roll close to maximum), only the Cadre and the 4th Lyran do damage: 10 and 15 % respectively.
And now I shall roll, however, I would roll only once for my combined space force of 68 FP (6 ships attending). You then may distribute the damage.
Also, Interdiction does not seem to be broken as you would need 25 %. Damage is 2.5 with Lyrans doing 1.5 and Cadre doing 1.
CIH roll:
[blockquote]Rolled 2d6-2 : 1, 3 - 2, total 2[/blockquote]
The roll would need to be done again for the lyran/dc force, since its one roll for the 62.75FP not individual rolls. I have a few questions for Dave, so the roll will be done after that.
That makes 80% damage. Translates to: 54.5 FP.
IC: Lin Hasbrin looked at the symbols in her Holotank. The IS Droppers were being slaughtered. Some still survived. They would never break through.
"Open a channel", she demanded. "Inner Sphere forces, you cannot escape. The might of the Ice Hellion has destroyed you. Now, power down your Ships and machines and give up. There is no honor in dying without sense! This is your only chance." Comms were cut on her sign. On the ground, they had fought well, but it seemed that the Loremaster had broken their command center. How else would this have happened? Or the Genyosha, a renowned Elite corps, had chosen to not die for their old enemy, the Lyrans, and all had fallen apart, with all others following their example? In any case, they could not overcome her Naval Star. The Hellion's Pride and Swift Bait had hammered them mercilessly, while the Spirit and the Taney killed all with their mammoth guns. It was a bloodbath. She did not feel in great mood about it.
DC/LC roll:
[blockquote]Rolled 2d6+2 : 2, 4 + 2, total 8[/blockquote]
Doing 15% or 9.50FP (62.75*.15).
Remaining forces will not surrender and will try again after damage is allocated of course.
Damage 54.5FP
Genyosha 47.25 - 41 = 6.25FP
Sun Zhang Cadre 5FP - 4.75 = .25FP
1st Genyosha .25FP - .25 = 0
4th Lyran Guards 10.75 FP - 9.50 = 2.25FP
OP: Ship threatening rolls:
Vigilant Spirit: [blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 4, 3, total 7[/blockquote]
Taney: [blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 2, 5, total 7[/blockquote]
Cold Hunter: [blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 1, 2, total 3[/blockquote]
Impaler: [blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 3, 3, total 6[/blockquote]
Hellion's Pride: [blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 5, 6, total 11[/blockquote]
Swift Bait: [blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 5, 2, total 7[/blockquote]
The 6 Warships literally executed the various Dropships and the few fighter that where left after the gruesome ground battle. THe Hellion's Pride and the Swift Bait danced behind the cloud of Dropships, tearing into them with their mammoth Lifetaker Naval Autocannon. There, another big Overlord got its back torn open by the Hellion's pride. But what was that. Lin Hasbrin watched with indifference as the drive plume from the already fast going Ship erupted even more and thus it hurled forward, now uncontrolled.
She pointed at it in her Holotank: "Project the course for it," she barked. What she feared became reality: "Cold Hunter, move away! Evade the Overlord! Jango, move!"
On board the Cold Hunter, which just hammered her broadside into the big group of Dropships, Jango Morris heard the Comm. It was his Star Admiral with fear in her voice, clearly those Droppers posed no threat to them. They died like flies and he enjoyed the target practice. Oh NO!
"Machines, thrust now, 3 G, Navs, 40 degrees down! Do it!" However, the Overlord, completely out of control and thrusting way over its maximum, was too close. "This is the Captain, abandon Ship!" The Cannons stopped shooting and several Escape pods were launched. Jango would stay on his ship, however. The crash sent shockwaves through the whole ship, the Overlord ramming right into the right aft section, nearly breaking it in half. The other Hellion crews watched in Horror, seeing the Cold Hunter mauled like that.
After a short pause, all the naval weapons started firing again, with the two Fredasas never ceasing in the first place.
Cold Hunter goes down.
38 FP available for the possibly last round.
IP: the mood was grim on the bridge. Those scum, too dumb to see they had no way out, would die.
OP: Roll: [blockquote]Rolled 2d6-2 : 1, 4 - 2, total 3[/blockquote]
OP: Surrender still possible. However, if any, I await the next and last roll.
Bump
[Sorry bad weekend]
[blockquote]Rolled 2d6+2 : 6, 6 + 2, total 14[/blockquote]
12s are good right?
Remaining allied assets do no damage to the interdiction.
Chu-i Henderson looked next to him to see a Lyran Major who had hitched a ride on their dropship for the evac, their was once a time when the old soldier would have killed the young Major without second thought, but how times had changed. He witnessed the killing of his fellow warriors against the Hellion warships, he saw one being gutted by an overlord that had lost control, he knew only death waited from him and he was at peace with it. Turning to his left he addressed the Lyran Major, "I never thought i would die along side an Elsie, even when your countrymen fought the Jaguars i always knew we would not get along. I have seen many things in my lifetime boy, enemies, friends, lovers, family all die on one world or another and now here i die protecting a Lyran world; who would have believed."
The Union tried once again in vain to make a run to the jumpships, it would never make it.
Damage assessment :(: Aero Part (Interdiction and breaking: 20,25 FP
Ground (battle and Interdiction stuff): 131,5 For the IS defenders total, 68,75 for CIH ground and interdiction stuff.
So I go with 2 salvage rolls.
AERO: [blockquote]Rolled 2d6+15 : 3, 1 + 15, total 19[/blockquote]
Ground: [blockquote]Rolled 2d6+15 : 4, 1 + 15, total 20[/blockquote]
3,75 for the Aero Part
40 for the ground part.
Melissia is freed.
The workers in the MF are screened. Those who want to work forth are good. However, massive Influx of Clan Techs is going to change things.
Philippe looked into the sky. There would float the wreck of the Cold Hunter and countless others of Dropships and fighters. He was somehow sad, even if this was not what warriors would try to achieve.
Then an uncomfortable thought crawled into his mind: was he more of an Inner Sphere soldier? Was he of Lower Caste mindset? True, he was not the typical fast acter, even not the typical warrior, as he had a knack for diplomacy and trade. This seemed wasteful to him as the real target was still elsewhere. But to take them on, they had to secure their flanks first.
He nodded. Yes, it was sad that they needed to attack those delusionals in order to secure the victory over those unspeakable scum. It was necessary.
But the cost.. the 45th Striker Irregulars and Star Colonel Scott Moore dead. The Cold Hunter and Jango Morris: dead. Other Clusters struck. Although the survivors of the 45th had done well and had been transferred to other Clusters. He had to admit, without the 2nd and 3rd Assault Clusters of Delta, they could not have broken the Genyosha's spirit. When Damon Hawkin's 2nd Assault broke right into the middle of them, while his own 9th Hellion Lancer's Elementals took out their HQ, it would not have been possible. True, Gamma and Delta were the heaviest Galaxies in the Touman, but still. Delta had the two Assault Clusters. He thought about either resurrecting the 45th or installing another Assault Cluster instead..
The sky started to blacken. Bad weather was coming up. This world was a good world, though.
OOC: Roll for the Cold Hunter: [blockquote]Rolled 2d6 : 4, 5, total 9[/blockquote]
