On Strana Mechty, the Holy World, the 45th Hector Cavaliers spread out.

They had to bring the hexes vacated by the Sharks back under Clan rule to prevent "Independence Movements".

This was communicated to the populace there, of course.

"Stay peaceful and work as you did before the exchange of territory and all will be fine," stated Star Colonel Gertwin over Radio.

The Cluster would check for anything bad or changed and then take up Garrison as usual. They stayed alert, though, Clan Diamond Shark was now on the edge of betrayal. Who knew what they had done here?

Holt

[Hexes are not vacated, I have no clue why they are not shark colored. Little has beed submitted their change a while ago and they have been on my sharks sheet for many turns now. Little?]

Daemonknight

"My only regret is that I will not be alive in .03 seconds. I would have liked to watch the enemy attempt to vent an omnidirectional thermonuclear blast enveloping their outpost."

Marlin

"Warriors of Clan Diamond Shark. As you still occupy this land, we want some of its fruit. I am Star Colonel Gertwin and I demand 2 binaries of your Nova Cat Heavy Omni Mechs of you. I have with me the 45th Hector Cavaliers, Veterans of the battle with the Cabal and destroyer of those. Hand over what we want or bid as the Founder decreed!"

Holt

Welcome Hellions to our Strana Mechty enclave, I am Star Captain Nagasawa and will answer your challenge. Unfortunately giving the IlKhan's decree banning trials in combat zones we cannot accept your challenge, if you wish i can put you in touch with a merchant from my clan to show you what can be acquired from our factories.

Marlin

Gertwin could not suppress a trembling in her voice. But clearing her throat she went on.

"I have my orders, Star Captain. Hand over what I demand, or fight me like the Founder laid down. The ilKhan does not forbid what I want. Do not make me to take it. Your Clan has desecrated the Founder's will here on our Land of Dreams and it is time to show face. If a pure Clan of Kerensky takes over what you gained by your defiance for tradition, it might be best, but I would not wish for it."

Holt

I highly doubt you can 'take' it Hellion, i do not see the need to waste men and material for something that can be acquired by other means; especially since those same men are needed for a greater goal. If you continue along this path only death and waste will come of it.

I have with me a Diamond Shark merchant so you continue along your quest for a binary of Shark mechs.

Marlin

"Prove your words in a Circle of Equals, Shark, or prepare your Merchant to hand over the delivery. I will not wait much longer."

Gertwin grew angry. True, the ilKhan's decree was ambiguous, but no true Warrior would need an invitation to prove his/her worth. Although the Sharks liked to be Merchants, perhaps that Star Captain had just switched Castes?

Holt

I think you misunderstand me Star Colonel, you may speak to a merchant to see about acquiring our wares, we will not just hand over anything.

Marlin

"And I think you willingly misunderstand me, you have but two choices now: hand over what we demand, or fight for it, as it is our tradition. This is your last chance."

Holt

So be it Hellion, i bid every Diamond Shark warrior on Strana Mechty in defense of the prize, you demanded it.

First, Gertwin was speechless. Then enraged. Then meek. But then her rage won the upper hand again. It seemed that the rumours were true.

But of course, there was no way to overcome these numbers.

Calling her second in Command, a bloodnamed Warrior, she instructed him.

Then she opened the channel again.

"Badly bargained, Diamond Shark. Who is your superior? I need to talk about this. No mere Star Captain should command this kind of force, unless.. what happened with the Warriors of the Scientists? They were acting as decoys. So, who is in Command of you?"
