Planet Crellacor
15 December 3091

After brushing aside the Star Adder defenders, Clan Steel Viper and The Dominion find themselves at odds over who will control the last remnants of the once-mighty Star Adder Commonwealth. History remembers Crellacor as the decisive enagement.

Scenario

Clan Steel Viper and The Dominion wage a trial of posession for Crellacor.

The Honorable Way

This scenario assumes that both sides uphold Clan Honor. If the Dominion refuses to accept the Steel Viper batchal, the scenario will be significantly different - Fatebringer, let me know if you choose this option.

Attacker

The attacker are elements of one Dominion cluster. Build a trial force of no larger than trinary strength.

Defender

The defender are elements of the regular 223rd Battle Cluster. Build a force roughly equal to the Dominion force.

If played in Simple Resolution, treat both forces as 5.0 FP.

Special Conditions

Strictly by the book: Clan Steel Viper must rigidly adhere to Zellbrigen. If at any point the Dominion side breaks Zellbrigen, the Steel Vipers will immediately initiate a melee.

Isorla in action: Clan Steel Viper has recently acquired a great deal of Star Adder equipment. The Steel Viper player may use one Star Adder design that the Steel Vipers would not normally have access too.

Scoring

Whichever side wins the trial wins the scenario. In simple resolution, roll only once - in the event of a tie the defender wins.
And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Apollyon, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

Fatebringer

As the "Attackers," the New Dominion will issue the Batchall and match forces.
New Dominion Forces will follow Zellbrigen as we have in the past.

Dominion's Opinion of Zell
Mechs issue Challenges to declare their targets.
ASF's, Battle Armor, Protos and Vehicles are Free For All attackers and targets.
Physicals are dishonorable, Back Shots are not.
Shooting at a shut down mech due to heat is okay, due to injury is not.
Shooting at a prone mech is okay.

Fighting Dezgra doesn't automatically cancel Zell unless it threatens the lives of the Warriors present. Something like a kick, just means that everyone will kick. Shooting multiple targets, means everyone will shoot multiple targets, do this too often, zell will be off. Shoot at a unit that has been granted Hegira or that is unconscious, Zell is immediately off unless RP states otherwise.

Fatebringer

Who ever wants to play, declare a force and I'll match it and I'll even try to make sure the BV and FP are even so there's no advantages :P As long as these worlds are protected by someone who cares and can hold them from the Lyrans, I'm happy. ;)

Before I throw my hat in the ring, I would like a clarification. Note the underlined entries, according to TW page 273, each point of Protos and BA are considered a single Mech for dueling purposes. So clarification is needed.

As to your fighting dezgra point, you are correct, to a point. But what becomes that "line in the sand"? By what you posted earlier, on the first turn of firing if you use a point of protos, you could be fighting dezgra five times, or more, in a single turn.

Dave Baughman

Grey, good question. For this scenario, when I say "rigidly adhere to Zell" I guess I should have said "adhere to Clan honor and Zellbrigen rules as described on pages 274-275 of Total Warfare, using Honor Level 2."
And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Apollyon, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

Fatebringer

That's just my standard interpretation of Zell. I feel that many of the mechs can easily kill off BA and Protos, especially the lighter you get with a long ranged weapon.

Fatebringer

Zell was strictly upheld in this battle, The Vipers put up one hell of a fight, but Fate was against them as the Gimped Polar Bear (Night Gry) faced off against the Overheaded Timberwolf, and there was the perfect outcropping for the Polar Bear to jump to and protect it's legs that only had a few Internal remaining. In the end, it was the barrage of SRMs that trashed the engine shielding and dropped the mech.
