What is so hard in this concept for you to grasp Raven?

Was not Terra fought over in a proxy battle on on Tukkayyid?

Our arrangements with the Wolves were mad where they felt their forces strongest so that we might have the most impressive battles.

I Star Colonel Regina Carmichael of Sigma Provisional Galaxies 158th Crimson Guards defend this claim in the name of Clan Blood Spirit.

We are trueborn warriors of the Clans and do not reject those who wish for honorable combat. But remember fledgling those who seek us on our ground may in turn be sought on their own.

For this too is the way of the Clans.

"Excuse me gentlemen, but Clan Wolf agreed to an honorable trial against Clan Blood Spirit on Eden that would include the land on Circe.  As the Blood Spirits have yet to engage us in an honorable trial, under the teachings of Kerensky, then they do not yet have claim to our holdings here.  We are still reviewing the data to determine what has occurred on Eden."

OOC - Wolves do not allow the Spirits access to our enclave territory yet, due to the events on Eden.

OOC: Just so it's said, I direct all participants to Field Manual: Crusader Clans, page 13.

To quote the relevant section: "The winner of a bid enters the field with the agreed-upon forces, but may call on reserves equal to the strength of the opponent's last bid with only a small loss of honor.  To bring in more forces requires the permission of the other bidder, and usually entails a severe loss of face."

And to make sure it's clear, when it refers to the "opponent", it's referring to the other Blood Spirit(s) bidding for the right to fight the Trial, not to the Wolves.  So we don't need the Wolves' permission to bring in more forces, and it's perfectly legal under Clan law.

Also, the Ravens can't really disagree with it, either, since they pulled the same trick at Tamar by bringing the Horses into their fight.  So it's legal from the FGC rules perspective as well.

(This is regarding the situation at Strana Mechty, but as it's the crux of the situation here, I'm posting it here as well.)

OOC: A.) Tamar is not a Trial. B.) CSR acknowledges that CBS may have bid like cowardly surats, (50% overbid) and broke Zellbrigen, but they did win the trial on Eden. So the challenge here defaults to them. C.) We are still waiting for an answer.

OOC: A.) Never said Tamar WAS a Trial.  I was simply pointing out that from a RULES perspective, it's legal.  I did say this already, so you know.  B.) Okay.  C.) Okay.

OOC: So, to my understanding, the Wolves are refusing to abide by the outcome of the Trial on Eden, which was to turn over their Circe enclave, because zellbrigen was broken.  Is this correct?  Because if it is, let us know so we can simply hit the Wolves here for violating the terms of the Trial.

As for the "overbidding", such as it is, I really can't listen to anyone complain about that after the fact when it should've been addressed before the Trial.  As the Trial commenced with both sides' forces declared, that's a de facto acceptance of the bid, so it's not really a factor here.

Let us know exactly what's up here, because I'm more than a little confused as to why the Wolves are now barring the Spirits from the enclave they just won, in terms the Wolves themselves agreed with.  If the Wolves are defaulting on their word, we're exercising the right of forfeit and attacking the enclave full-force.

NVA

Overbidding is an IC issue, not an OOC objection.  Plus, there is no IC way to object.  And, we are dealing with it IC.  My post here was simply an objection to this moving forward without me having a chance to review what happened.  So, please, just be patient.  You guys made IC decisions to use 'questionable' tactics and bidding.  I am determining how to deal with it IC.

Star Colonel Regina Carmichael and the 158th Crimson Guards Cluster, having taken up station just outside out of the Wolf enclave, send a terse transmission to the Wolves within.

"Clan Wolf, we repeat once again for your benefit, the Trial upon Eden was lost by your warriors.  We therefore invoke our right to enter this enclave and take it as our isorla.  If you had objections to our bid, you had your chance to raise them before the Trial commenced.  And both sides committed questionable acts as far as zellbrigen goes.

"We grow tired of waiting.  Are you going to abide by your word, or shall we simply storm your enclave and take what we are owed?  We are willing to grant you safcon from this world if you hold to your word.  If you force us to wrest this enclave from you, we will leave none of you alive to further sully your Clan with such dishonor.

"Your decision, Clan Wolf?"

NVA

"We will abide by our agreement.  We fought ever trial according to Kerensky's teachings and our own honor.  It surprises us that your clan, who prides itself on being the epitome of Kerensky's Ways, would so have to twist and push the system.  But, I guess that simply shows the respect you have for us being Kerensky's strongest clan.  At least you do not believe yourselves weak, like the Star Adders, who do not believe they can defeat us without orbital bombardment or at least 3 to 1 odds."

OOC - This was broadcast, since there are other interested parties.  I don't recall which world had the conspirators, so I won't post us 'leaving' yet, since we have been challenged in regards to that and we also were already willing to fight against them before we leave.

The 158th Crimson Guards move into the Wolf enclave with all deliberate haste, meeting the broadcasted Wolf boasting with silence.  Star Colonel Carmichael had come for what her saKhan had tasked her, and no further words to these mewling, traitorous pups were necessary.

However, she did abide by the terms of the agreement, and allowed the Wolf forces the opportunity to leave unmolested... but under the watchful eyes and guns of her 'Mechs, as they were now standing in Blood Spirit territory.  She hoped, for their sakes, that they did not tarry long.

Fatebringer

OOC: CSR is still waiting for repsonse to trial. Star Captain Carmichael was the Wolf Pilot in the Timberwolf that beat the Blood Spirit in the Blood Kite, and both the Blood Spirit Commander and Wolf Commaners are invited to join the Ravens for a Meeting.

tassa_kay

OOC: Star Colonel Regina Carmichael is not the Wolf pilot; she's the CO of this Cluster, as per the very first post of the thread.  Just FYI, so there's no confusion.  Also, the Ravens have only stated their intention to challenge the winner of this; they haven't actually issued a challenge to Trial as such.  Is it your wish to do this now?

Fatebringer

ooc: I gotcha. I messed that up when I posted the Wolf Bid. So it was Star Captain Hephaestus that won the trial. :P

I also consider the statemen, "I challenge the winner" a challenge and have asked for a response three times. If your waiting for an RP challenge perhaps you should RP acknowledge our presense first.

OOC: We aren't ignoring you (Chaos actually did respond to your initial broadcast)... you just haven't issued an actual Trial, just "I challenge the winner".  Challenge the winner to what?  A Trial of Possession, a Trial of Grievance, a Trial of Refusal?  A generic "I challenge the winner" isn't something I can respond to unless you phrase it in context.  Clarify the challenge, and I'll respond to it for ya.

Fatebringer

Quote"I Star Colonel Kelse Howe of Clan Snow Raven will challenge whoever wins the trial to solidify our possession of Circe"

I will rephrase this for you then. "I  Star Colonel Kelse Howe of Clan Snow Raven challenge Clan Blood Spirit to a Trail of Possession for they lands they possess on Circe."
