((OOC- as the title says, this is specifficlly for the Trial of Refusal the Steel Vipers started. For those who need a reminder, the vote being refused was that the Fire Mandrill offshoot calling itself 'Clan Camel' was to be offically recognized as Clan Camel. Also, it would be protected from ALL Trials of Possession, untill the Grand Council decided otherwise.))

Diana nodded, knowing full well it was coming as soon as the Viper Khan had spoken so vehemently against the vote. As she looked at the voting tallys to ascertain the odds against in the coming trial, she was reminded of a similar Trial of Refusal, where 3 warriors attempted to overturn the Jade Falcon Council. She secretly hoped this Trial did not have a similar outcome.

"Khan Perigard Zalman has issued a Trial of Refusal against the vote in favor of Clan Camel. The odds against are 3:10. Khan Perigard Zalman, with what forces do you intend to use to fight your Trial?"
"My only regret is that I will not be alive in .03 seconds. I would have liked to watch the enemy attempt to vent an omnidirectional thermonuclear blast enveloping their outpost."

"IlKhan, Clan Steel Viper has prepared its force for this trial, data and codexes of the warriors are uploading now. I will personally be leading a binary of the Triasch Keshik. I am currently just outside the Inner Sphere, but can easily reach several Clan's Inner Sphere holdings. Although the parameters of the Trial outside of the composition of our force is not in my Clan's control, I request that Khan Lynn leads the Council's force. After all, this is about her Clan's very survival, should she not actual participate in determining the fate of her Clan? We are Clan, we are Warriors, and Warriors fight, not sit behind a desk relying on others to do the fighting for them."

Khan Zalman spoke with clear disdain in his voice and a visible scowl on his face while addressing the Council in general, and the Camel Khan in particular.

"Of course, Clan Steel Viper bows to the wisdom of this council."

((OOC: since the odds against are 10:3, whomever defends the vote has 9.75FP to attempt to defeat Perigard Zalman's force))

ilKhan Diana Pryde thought for a moment on Khan Zalman's request for the Camel leader(Diana couldn't bring herself to call her a Khan just yet, as that was what this Trial was all about), and also was searching for a suitible location on a neutral location.

"Khan Zalman has a very good point," Diana swept her gaze over to Amy Lynn. "Khan Lynn, will you accept the direct challenge from Khan Zalman, to defend your newly named Clan's right to exist as a separate entity from its progenitor?"
"My only regret is that I will not be alive in .03 seconds. I would have liked to watch the enemy attempt to vent an omnidirectional thermonuclear blast enveloping their outpost."

((Wasn't that 10:3 for the vote?? Initiators of the ToR would be at 2.75*.3 = .825 FP))

Daemonknight

((the odds against Zalman are 10:3...because the voted passed by a 10:3 ratio. so if he is bringing 2.75FP, its roughly triple his forces he has to face to overturn the vote. He gets to choose the size force he wants to use to overturn the vote, and then someone else gets triple that ammount to defeat him.))

"IlKhan, I believe your math may be a bit off, my calculations show (2.75*3.33=9.16 rounded to 9.25)."

Daemonknight

"Ah yes, you are correct. Forgive me, i spoke without confirming my figures."

((Stll waiting for a response from Amy Lynn about the direct challenge. If another Khan wishes to bid in the meantime, there is nothing stoping you. Zalman does not have the ability to force who he must fight))

Amy Lynn: "Both myself and my saKhan are presently engagned in truely securing my new Clans survival, by engaging its enemies.  That they are the enemies of our brother Clans as well should stand as reason enough not to divert attention for the matter.  We have brought our Clan into existance by our actions, and we shall continue to preserve its existance by our actions, with our with out the will of the council.

"As this motion is that of the ilKhan, I will leave it to her to nominate which ever champion she determines in my absance, or else to postpone the trial untill such a time as I can be spared from combat opperations.  This trial might be deligated to my Loremaster, or to another warrior, but only our second line forces remain uncommitted at this time, and so additional forces would be needed to match the Viper bid; our Loremaster Kai Payne's unit was distroyed by the Terrans during their orbital bombardment of our capitol world, and so he is presently with out a command untill we can reconstitue our Third Galaxy."

Daemonknight

Diana shook her head.

"It is not my place to choose a champion, Khan Lynn. A member of the council who voted in favor must step forth to defend the claim. If you will not, and after a direct challenge, then someone else must put themselves foreward, otherwise the Trial will be automaticlly deemed successful and the vote overturned.

The image of Khan Allison Sonoma swam into view behind the Jade Falcon desk.

"The majority of the Clans who have voted in favor are currently engaged in major military operations. I would sugest that the Trial be held on a world in the Inner Sphere, possibly within the Falcon OZ, and that it be postponed untill after the current fighting has subsided. I will bid warriors of the Jade Falcon Guards to defend the vote, and would welcome the warriors of other Clans to fight alongside us in defending Clan Camel."

Marlin

Uplink: "Khan Ice Hellion will of course stand by the side of their old allies. However, all Clans voting in the favor of Clan Camel should play a part. Clan Camel's representatives of course should be the first to step in. Loremaster Kai Payne is welcome to lead in this Trial."

Fatebringer

<<Lynn Mckenna transmitred in full Khan attire, standing in front of a windor.>>

"I bid no forces in defense of Clan Camel because I am already in the middle of preparing for a trial. A very important trial. Should we prove victorious, Operation Phalanx will have succeeded.

I await the outcome of this trial of refusal and shall inform the Grand Council of the results of our own trial when it is complete."

GraeGor

"While I, personally, have a great deal of respect for Khan Amy Lynn and her decision to preserve her people, Clan Star Adder done its part already. We have given her the opportunity to prove that her act is the right one."

"So in my, our, mind, Clan Camel should, on the merits and skills of its Warriors and Khan, earn the privilege and honor of continuing as Clan," the Khan of Clan Star Adder states, "no offense intended toward Khan Lynn."

"However in light of her demi-Clan taking part in offensive actions against our collective and mutual enemies, I believe it would be prudent to allow her to prove their worth in that manner. Much as our forebears did during Operation Klondike when the Clans were still in their infancy, for it was in those fires of True War that forged our ancestors into true Clans, and enlightened them to the horrors and waste that such conflicts generate."

"Our Trial system is without peer when it comes to testing the mettle of an individual, but is near meaningless when confronted with what we are now faced with in the Inner Sphere"

"As a new Clan, I agree, let Clan Camel be tested, but as a whole, not just a fragment, in the fires of a True War. Let the War against the Not-Named be Clan Camel's Klondike."

"And should they survive, then those same fires will have burned away the remaining impurities of their past, allowing them to forge a new future with those who still believe in the ideals of the Original Star League."

"Clan Camel will have tempered themselves against overwhelming numbers as the Founders did, rightfully earned their place amongst all the remaining Clans of Kerensky, just as our ancestors did during Klondike. No rules, no quarter, no regrets, no remorse."

Stanislav N'Buta's eyes are directed at the Camel Khan at the end of his speech, if she is present, at her monitor if not, though before signing off, and leaving his link in audio/standby mode, he offers her image, or her place, a gesture of his respect, a salute from the Original SLDF.
